Jabim (Clone Wars cartoon version)-Pics!

Ok, for my 1st map I am intending making a version of the battle in Clone Wars episode 22. Its the rain planet where Obi Wan and Anakin sneak into the droid base and blow up their shield allowing the clones to come in.
Now I'm obviously inexperienced and anyone who can offer help, please do, as theres a ton of stuff I want to do, that I haven't learned yet.
Playing about on zeroeditor I've managed to make the start of my map. There is to be a clone encampment with a few trenches, and then a long passageway into the CIS base which will be the sewers. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make them covered over (can't see a reason why not, yet) but hopefully. At the moment the trenches are huge, as I've not go the hang of the scale yet, and I need to add buildings in for the CIS.
I'm intending having the droids with proper (rifle carrying) battle droids and lots of defenses. If its possible to make a shield that goes down (anyone know if its possible/easy to take the capital ship shields and put them on a building?) after something inside is destroyed I will do.
I want to put a decent amount of vehicles. Maybe a jedi fighter, certainly a gunship or 2, and lots of vultures if I can have them. CIS are kind of under siege so I don't think I'll have them with much land vehicles. Clones will have an ATTE (the 6legged thing?) and maybe some speeder bikes.
I'm going to make custom sides for this (obviously to change CIS about a bit) so that Anakin, Obi Wan and Cody are all playable (maybe Cody as a hero?). I think this might be a bit one sided, so am trying to think up ways for the CIS to win. If I can get the shield idea to work what I'd like to do is get droids to place a lot of mines down inside the shield, so that when the Reps try to swarm in they all get blown up. That and some sniper points and turret guns should help.
A final (and maybe too ambitious) idea is to have other clones (plain white as opposed to cody's orange guys) as locals. They'd be in an overhead cap ship, supplying gunships to the battle. I'd put a capturable command post there as well, so that the Reps would get more air support. (Maybe make it so you use the jsfto get up there, and then are able to spawn gunships from the captured cp?).
Anyone with any advice, questions or suggestions (I'll need to know how to add rain) about my plans please pipe in.

sounds like a good idea. U mean Episode 2 right, not Episode 22?

I think it's spelled jabimm, and that's a great idea. He means episode 22 in the micro series.

No, jabinn appeared in episode 22, muunilist apeared in episode 2.

A few things:

1-Start out small. Jaabim is a rather hefty project for your first map. Just play around with textures and objects and whatnot and learn the editor for one map, then start on Jaabim once you feel comfortable.

2-To be in the Work In Progress forum you must have screenshots of your current level. This is to keep from idea topics masqerading as WIPs. I'll give you a a week or so to put up some screens, otherwise I need to lock this thread.

3-Doing a shield is very possible. BF1 had the Faamba shield.

Looking forward to your first map. Like I said though, start of simple. Heck, you could even do Jaabim, just leave certain parts that are harder for later, and release new versions as you go along to get feedback and help.

First of all it's "Jabiim" and second I don't believe that in episode 22 it was Jabiim, but maybe it was Cato Neimodia. Is that the one with cody who pops in? If so that was definetely Cato, because Cody was not at Jabiim. I love the concept though. :)

That wasn't Cato Neimoidia either. Neimoidia has jungles as described in Labyrinth of Evil and mountains as seen in Revenge Of The Sith.

I still think it looked more like Jabiim than anything. I mean, the descriptions fit rather well... well...that's atleast what I see it looking like in my mind. :)

i couldn't find much info on it myself. i wanted to dothat planet, and set out to find out where it was. clone wars databank on the official site has it listed in the eu section for appearing in clone wars, and the page has a pic that looks a bit like the cartoon. i just kinda guessed.
as for the complex stuff on the map. yeah, i know a lot of it will be released in later versions. i just thought it was a cool little segment ofthe show, that wasn't really expanded on too much. we saw the actual battle for about 30seconds, with the rest being kenobi and skywalker sneaking about. i decided to sort of have the 2 going on at once. i don't think its possible to do objectives in an instant action map, but i figure i can add some objectives to the loading hints or something. give people suggestions of actions they can take ("take command of the reinforcements", "destroy the shield generator" ,etc) basically make it like the shipped maps (and the best mod maps), by having cool stuff to do in the levels as well as just shoot and be shot at, as fun as that is.
thanks for all the encouragement. I'll work on this and get some screens of the map layout by the weekend hopefully. i'll have a look at the sides stuff tomorrow as well, and hopefully get some of my sides organised, so that even if its just a basic conquest map to begin with it'll be a little unique.
*ps about screens, do I just print screen when using zeroeditor? how about in game?

Yeah, Alpha17 was on Jabiim, but not in the tv show he's talking about. Cody was in that one. Evidently there are two stories with Jabiim. Whatever.

yep, Cody was in the cartoon. I don't have all the comics stuff for ref, am sticking with Jabiim being the name of the planet. http://starwars.com/databank/appearance/epcw.html list all the planets that appeared (and while its obviously including comics and other EU, just from looking at the names of people) I can't think of any other planet listed that fits.
At work now, but will see about adding some objects in ze when i get home.

Yeah, craggy, you press print screen and paste them someplace, like photoshop, paint shop pro, or paint. Then you save it and upload it someplace like http://www.maj.com, and give us the URL from there. If you resize the pictures to be small enough to fit on a normal screen size, you can post them image's deep link as an tag. Hope that helped! :D

Could be the retaking of Jabiim, seeing as the battle for jabiim in the graphic novel I have was a lost battle for the Republic.

epena, I have a photobucket acc, i'll likely use that.
badass7 and jk514, any suggestions on what to put in the map based on what you see of the planet in the comics? the shots of the battlefield are quite minor in the cartoon.

now, rogress and questions:
I was playing about with zeroeditor tonight (done a ton of stuff and then it crashed on me as i was adding that "1last thing before I save" lol) and have some good ideas on objects to add in the sewers. Right now my idea is to have the sewer section very deep and high with shallow water(sludge) in the bottom (won't even try adding that til I have the map layout done though), walkways along the sides and hopefully some platforms for droid guards to be posted at. Not sure how I'll make the sewers enclosed. At the moment I have the channels dug out in the terrain (same with the Rep trenches, but those are not finished yet) and am thinking I'll be able to place objects over the gap. I managed to get some Mygeeto platforms up and hanging over the edge from the wall, but am not sure what to use for the roof/walls. Walls don't need to be too high, just enough for a character to get into the top level, and then they can shoot or go down the ramp/stairs, whichever I use (am thinking ramps right now as they seem easier).
I think 1st release will focus on map layout, but may not have completely finished CIS base (could always make it a bit ruined, Obi Wan has been there for a month I'm sure the base has had some damage, even behind a shield). I'll do the sewers and see if I can get my head around placing CPs (can't see them in ZE?) so that you spawn near the entrance to the sewers and there are droid guards in them. On a plus side I think I've just about got the land textures I want, maybe see if I can find some muddy ground to have in the trenches. Next time I do something on the map I'll take pics.

zero editor keep crashing on me. is there a time limit that it will work for? or can you only do so many things at once? also, i changed the sides in the lua and it doesnt seem to have changed anything in game. heres what i have :

Guys for info on Jabiim read the comic books of clone wars. And the commander is Alpha. There are some padawans fighting there too.
