New icons in custom maps? [SOLVED]

Post by giftheck »

I'd like to know how I add new HUD icons to a custom map? For my Kashyyyk BF2 port, at the moment, my Snail Tanks use the standard Hailfire Droid icon on the HUD but I want to change it.

try to copy the hud tgas from swbf2 over into your side msh folder and add the name to your odf. if that doesnt work, try to put the tga into common interface folder.

That won't work as BF2's HUD uses a 2D mesh file, I believe.

didnt know that swbf2s map icons are 2d, too, if they are 2d, and dont have a texture, you will have to paint hte icons yourself

What I mean is, I have the icons I want to use but I don't know how to get them in-game on a custom map.

you tried it? if you want, you can replace "hud tgas" with "icons".

Do you have them referenced in the ODF? There is a reference to the icon in there somewhere. Then all you need is to place the icon.tga in the side's MSH folder.
