Is prone possible in SWBF2?
I've been told getting soldiers to go prone like BF1 is litterally impossible on BF2 because the code was taken out. Is this true?

No, it is possible. Teancum had it working in the Conversion Pack for one of the Rebel units.

No, it's impossible. It was a very, VERY poorly done hack I did. It's the best that we could do. Even though the animation proned, the game still behaved like it was a crouch. If you fired while proned, the shot would come from a crouch position. If you walked while proned, the legs would go into a crouch and the torso would stay proned.Darth_Maul wrote:No, it is possible. For small files, http://www.momoshare.com is the best that I've found.
Just FYI Taivyx, these are just animation hacks here too. It's the same as what's in the conversion pack. I.E. it doesn't work right.
I hate to burst everyone's bubble, really I do. But it is 100% no-way-around-it impossible to do prone in SWBF2. Even if all the animations end up working you still have the issue of the character moving to crouch position anytime you fire. That one we could never get around. Normally I'd say it's not a big deal, but that's one of those bugs that sortof ruins things.

For the industrious, it is possible to create a new weapon with a properly offset firing hardpoint, then code the LUA to change to this weapon everytime you crouch. Perhaps even get the right ammo state and pass it on.
Although I'm not sure SWBF 2 detects crouching, you possibly could rig it to force you to crouch every time you fired a special weapon. (Similar to the weapon that spawned reinforcements around you)
