Agreed. Savage Opress sounds more or less like a military stategy.

They could have had him as a nameless Zabrak, adding theater to his identity. I see why they did the whole Savage thing, y'know.. the name Maul. Maul did exactly as his name, and even ended up that way. Maybe this Savage is a savage Zabrak, and dies savagely.

And if this Savage is related to Maul, I'm pretty sure he would be plain red. Supposedly, he's Maul's brother. If Mandalore becomes non-pacifist again, I'm going to become even more interested. TCW abused it's powers with canoncity, and that is what led to a lot of criticism from fans who read the books stating otherwise. Good ol' Lucasfilms. Always overwriting their story.

Who wrote Star wars again? Was it Karen Traviss? No. Kevin J. Anderson? I don't think so. Vonda Mcintyre? Nope wrong again.
Traviss's books weren't the paragon of quality. She killed off fan favourite Mara Jade and her books are indistinguishable from High School fanfiction. As were Anderson's and whoever wrote The Glove of Darth Vader.
Lucas doesn't live to please EU fanboys. He doesn't care that the prequels might have conflicted with badly written post-ROTJ books, nor should he. It has been and forever will be his story.
I, for one, believe Ahsokha is actually tolerable and is no longer a scrappy, and I have high hopes for this season. Is it so hard to believe Darth Maul has a brother? Is it so hard to believe his name is Savage Opress? Did you ever once think he chose that name for himself? Not everyone is an only child, and sibling relationships are important part of Star Wars. If anything, this is proof that Lucasfilms is going to die with a bang, not a whimper.

It's been suggested that Savage is related to Maul, but I haven't heard anything about them being brothers. If they're from the same Zabrak clan or something then that's fine but I don't like it when the SW galaxy is rendered so small.

I respect your opinion. I don't know if I have sparked an argument, or total war. I'm not saying I agree to everything, but I do not like those Solo kids at all. I like the whole Mara+Luke thing, but killing Mara was too far. If Lucasfilms does die, it'll be because of Disney buying it out. IMO, the Legacy era was horribly written. We get the gist. New Republic, Boba Fett survives the Sarlacc(Fan's choice), Empire stays remnant. There is no way the Empire can just take over the galaxy again, after such a crushing blow some... ~133 years prior. On topic: don't have much more to say, besides that I look forward to seeing Kamino and Phase II armor. A shame that it's only about....21 BBY-20 BBY. I wonder if this is the battle of Kamino that we saw in the comics, or the second Mandalorian battle. It would be awkward for yet another. It takes away the point of Episode V in the first season. That clone blew himself up to defend Kamino. The seps can't just come back like that without a serious blockade. I may be wrong, but, I believe the second battle took place around 20 BBY.

Actually, I was alluding to a post in another thread of mine. George isn't getting any younger and if he doesn't find a worthy heir. Lucasfilms is dead. Besides, they're aleady a part of 20th Century Fox.
Savage probably is just from the same clan as Maul.

Oh. Well, Disney bought out Marvel Comics. If they have that kind of ambition, that means they'll probably buy anything. Maybe if Lucasfilms puts itself up for sale....
Anyways, back to the initial Clone Wars discussion: First, what is the timeline???(By the way, I had the whole Maul's brother idea from IGN. They said it on one of their articles.) My concerns about the timeline are because of the Battle of Kamino. It looks like the first battle, but officers didn't wear Phase I-II meshes. I might be wrong, but the second battle wasn't Sepratist influenced. Fenn Shysa and Spar were... I think. And the clones wore Phase 1.... or am I wrong again? I'm a bit rusty on the timeline during the Clone Wars. Wookieepedia is a nice supplement, though.

I wonder if Savage will learn the ways of the Dark Side. I mean, I think he'll live up to his name. :maulsaber:

Wait a second, maybe Savage is his
last name, which means we will be seeing Maul's brother prove the relative legitimacy of common sayings and urban legends alongside an alien with a gigantic mustache, which will be awesome.
EDIT: Whoops. His last name's Opress, which vaults him to "least subtle villain name ever" and crushes my dreams of there ever being Mythbusters in space.

Star Wars is obviously a rip off of Dune because they both take place in space. [/sarcasm]
No, I learned my lesson regarding that schtick the last time and have henseforth banned myself from posting about it on the Internet.
Either way, I was being facetious before, and am quite psyched for the return of the Commandos.

Well, at least Trekkies don't say something like... "That's no Trek.". Yes, lame pun. Season 3 has potential. Maybe they'll keep up with the success of the first one. Why don't they make a GCW series?

Rookies was pretty good. And the very first one with Yoda and the three clones on Rugosa. Ambush? But yeah, other than that, the first season was aimed at a... younger audience.

Yeah, agreed with Twilight, Rookies was pretty good.

Rookies
was the best, IMO. Season two was...OK. But Boba Fett pulled off an Anakin saying he was sorry for what he did, but wouldn't forgive So&So for what he did.

That's kind of corny for an ending to a good season. Killing Commander Ponds was a disappointment for me, but it makes sense for a much darker story.

Was it? Rookies, Cloak of Darkness, Trespass, The Hidden Enemy, the Ryloth trilogy, Hostage Crisis. That's nearly half the season. I'm not sure we can say it was aimed at a younger audience.

One, 8 out of 22 is closer to one third than half. Two, Jar Jar Binks was in 6 of the season one episodes for comedic relief, even turning an entire episode into one big, clumsy attempt at humor. And three, even in a few of the episodes you listed (if not all), there was lots of slapstick comedy (mainly from droids) to appeal to the younger viewers and lighten the mood in even the "scariest moments" that kids of certain ages might not enjoy.

How about best/worst original character (besides Ashoka, she's a given for most people).
Best: The "Kung Lao hat" guy from the bounty hunter crew, or Cad Bane. It's a tie for me.
Worst: The spider-general for the CIS. It seemed like they were trying too hard.

Best: Commander Ponds
Worst: Ziro the Hutt -'Nuff said.
