Gun position issues, floats mysteriously

I am having trouble with one of my units in my weapons/lua test map. The custom rocket launcher which I downloaded from some SWBF site is floating above his hand.
Is there any way I can get the gun repositioned (like in its ODF) without having to edit the gun and redo its hardpoints?
Thanks, It would help a lot considering I have no .msh or .vrml 2.0 editing software.

The icon I fixed, its the actual gun that the guy is holding thats the problem

You may get some results by hex-editing, I think. There's a tutorial on using trans in msh files in the FAQ.

Did you change the weapons odf?

it has nothing to do with the odf, the rocketlauncher must have been placed not correctly in the msh. you should be able to fix that by hexediting either all the gunparts a bit down or the dummyroot up.

Can you translate the dummyroot up? I thought it had to be centered at (0,0,0).

Yes, I took the award rocket launchers ODF and put the new gun as its new weapon mesh
