NOTE:this will become a FAQ/Help Thread once my qustions are answered

Greetings all, :)

I,as some of you know, gave a shot a modding SWBF. But due to the fact of how I am completely confused about CPs and how to get them to work I have stopped. Today I had the urge to get back modding but I knew my attempts would be in vain so, I created this topic so I could learn all about CPs and how they work in-game.

How are you supposed to fill in these boxes(as in what to fill them in with) in zeroeditor?

CaptureReigon

ControlReigon

SpawnPath

AllyPath

AllyCount

Radius

(I guess this is all the basic stuff I need to know)

Thanks for any help :D

I would suggest you go to Fred's site and download his map example called Chainisle. Look at all the objects, art, sound, regions, etc. in that map and you can pretty much duplicate anything in Zeroedit. It helped me tremendously to see an example of what I wanted to do.
To try to step through every zeroeditor step here would be impossible. look at the examples and then repost your question using that as an example. "In chainisle there is a <blank>, I want it to be a <blank>. I did <blank> but it <blanked>."

Easy answer... open up BFBuilder and click on the Mod1 Tutorial it pretty much explains it all in plain english (worth printing out the tutorial for easy reference). Insert the CP object first, then create the capture and control regions, then draw the spawn path and allocate these all to the object so capture, control & spawn etc.. will be whatever you choose them to be. a good idea is to have CP3 (for example) as a command post and then call your capture region CP3capture, and CP3control etc.. if in doubt look at the CPs already on the world when you start and check out their info. The tutorial's definately worth a look. Hope this helps :)

The default CPs already in world should show you how to do it, no special tutorials are needed. Just make your CPs look like the default ones, changing names/numbers according to your map. The whole key to mapping SWBF is to copy what is already there. In other words, make your stuff look like the default stuff.

CPs are very easy to do. Place "com_bldg_controlzone," name it CP3 or whatever number, then create capture (sphere) and control (box) regions around it using "new group." Assign these names and numbers like the defaults do, and make sure they are consistent and have no errors (its very easy to miss mistakes here).

After that you go to Localization, which can be explained using a screenshot when you're ready (no time right now). But do the map part first.
