Agreed. When I first started with custom sides I was into the whole idea of making them "realistic" by having weapon setups exactly as they're seen in the movies and giving weapons high damage values, but as I've progressed I've actually been going backwards and making my sides closer to the setup of the original sides. A few months ago I made a map that just used the shipped sides, and I was surprised to find it refreshing in a way. The shipped sides just felt better with the map than any custom sides would have.Teancum wrote:That and to be brutally honest a LOT of custom legions get ruined with overpowered custom weapons and other things that unbalance gameplay. I've deleted many a map that I thought would be fun because the sides were awful.obiboba3po wrote:QFT like i said the custom legions are really being overused, and its not a good idea if its a first map.Teancum wrote:Disagree. I used to want custom clone legions on every map, but I'm really tired of them. Give me the 501st, or maybe the Ep II clones.Nova Hawk wrote:Try adding some custom clone legions. Like for instance I bet you could put in the Galactic Marines.
So yeah, I think you can get the point after everybody's comments.
