QFT like i said the custom legions are really being overused, and its not a good idea if its a first map.
That and to be brutally honest a LOT of custom legions get ruined with overpowered custom weapons and other things that unbalance gameplay. I've deleted many a map that I thought would be fun because the sides were awful.
Agreed. When I first started with custom sides I was into the whole idea of making them "realistic" by having weapon setups exactly as they're seen in the movies and giving weapons high damage values, but as I've progressed I've actually been going backwards and making my sides closer to the setup of the original sides. A few months ago I made a map that just used the shipped sides, and I was surprised to find it refreshing in a way. The shipped sides just felt better with the map than any custom sides would have.

So yeah, I think you can get the point after everybody's comments.

This map looks like it has potential. But it is falling prey to several major pitfalls. My diagnosis.(just what I think would help make this map great)

Change the sky, but I'm not gonna rag you anymore on this one.
Change up the terrain, it looks like in those pics that it might be mostly flat. Flat maps always score low, use the raise tool more.
Change up the debris, I think this map would benefit from some wreckage. Add some litter!
Change some of the textures, the terrain needs to be a little darker. And those Kashyyk gates look out of place, put snow on them.
Change the size, big maps dosen't mean big fun. Make sure the map isn't to big.

Other than that you're all set. The map looks promising, and you're well on your way to becoming a master modder. Keep it up! :thumbs:

Add a hero object. The hero object is a landmark that is the center of the battle, or is encompassed by the main battle-area. It is memorable, characterizes the whole map, and cannot be repeated.

looks very good for a first map as everyone is saying anyway i would but you dont have to darken the blue on thier heads and as others have said mix up the terrain add some big hills or a vally somthing like that

one: there are many bumps and hills around, although you might not be able to see them in the screenshots. Plus there is debris and more eventually may be added, but remember, this planet is not wartorn
two: I will change the sky and will get around to touching up the helmet.

also read before b-1, I already am going to reskin the walls.

I appreciate all input though :thumbs:

Another update, I am working on the Heavy Guard, so far just skinning the helmet. I will give him a chaingun instead later. I also updated the helmet of the rifleman.

the heavy one's helmet is definitely less painty, try to use that technique when painting all skins :thumbs:

Sorry. I'll pay more attention next time. The helmet reskins, a little painty, are pretty good. I like the whole "color coded class" deal you've got going on. :thumbs:

ooh thats an interesting outpost wall thingy you have there. i would suggest reskinning it but its a nice layout.

Demolisher: This trooper is outfitted with advanced armor and bionics that allow him to withstand hails of gunfire much easier than the ordinary trooper. The Demolisher is essentially a trooper that can withstand 4-5 times more damage than the ordinary trooper.

Clone Commando: Clone commando is only available in CW now unlike the pics suggest. The Storm took its place in GCW. He has a rifle, sniper, bulldog, thermal detonator and commando pistol.

Really nice job with the storm commando, the clone commando, and the demolisher.
The unit setup is very well done, but I think there is something really wrong with that battle droid's head...and the terrain (like other posts have said) is too bright for the map.
Also, the heavy trooper's helmet (the red one) is the best of the helmets. You should make the blue helmets like the heavy's helmet (keep them blue but make 2 different tones of blue) (or a duller blue)
Overall, this map has progreesed nicely, keep up the good work :thumbs:

Thanks man :thumbs: , i did darken the terrain so from a little farther from where you are it is darker until you get closer, same with mountains. About the droid head, something just randomly is there, don't worry while playing though you can't notice it, it looks like any other droid unless you stare intently at it and look for it. <(plus it is refurbished after all)

Also everything is localized now, just some map tweaks and unit tweaks and I'll release it!
