Hey guys,

I was really pissed off with the australian version of left 4 dead 2, and I had an idea. If I delete left 4 deads local files and configs then change my country to america would I be downloading the good version? Then change it back to australia?

Nope. That'll likely just make it download slower.

Apparently you can fix it by editing two files though. I haven't tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work:

1. \Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\ There's a file called "steam_appid.txt" Open it up and change whatever number is in there (Should be 550 right now) to 510.

2. \Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\ File's called "steam.inf" Open it and change the 550 to 510.

Should work. If not, try googling around. That's how I found this.

I did that ages ago but it doesnt save the game and you cant get achievements.
