I've preordered it. I'm glad they've at least put something in the Game Corners this time for the EU version (although all non-Japanese Versions get Voltorb Flip) - Platinum had "Game machines" which you could not play on, only pick coins up from. Pre-ordering it from GAME got me double Reward Points which, if I have enough, I'll probably use on the game.

I just have to ask this. Why on earth do they always give your avatar a weird hairdo?!? Do they enjoy making people look weird? Because they give everyone else normal looking hair, except the player always gets this wild hairstyle, especially the girls. Can somebody please tell me what is up with this?

It's just a common style of anime-based artwork. And not all the player characters have weird styles, in fact, last time I checked none of the male player characters had abnormal hair. Silver has some freaky Alfalfa thing going on now, but then again, he's not playable.

I remember one of the best things about Blue version was that they offered pokemon as a prize at the game corner. Do they do it in HeartGold?Fusion wrote:It's just a common style of anime-based artwork. Yes, they give away Pokemon. Any way, I got this game two days ago, and I LOVE IT. Though the walker toy thingie is useless. Due to school and other things, last night, I bested the second gym just now. I'm at Goldenrod now, and I entered the Bug contest last night, but I forgot to save sooo... But I lost anyway... In any case, The music is really great! I love the remade music, especially the gym ones! The only thing that has disappointed me(depending on if you "loved" the challenge), was removing Pidgeotto's mud slap move. However, that was very sneaky of you, GameFreak, changing the Bug gym leader's setup so that Scyther would pop up first. My poor Gastly, Scarien was murdered...

Which is why when I get it, I'm just going to port my best fighters from Pearl version.RED51 wrote:Yes, they give away Pokemon. Any way, I got this game two days ago, and I LOVE IT. I actually find it too be really cool. If you're relying on it to train your pokemon however...You may want to go back to the old fashion way. I find it cool because if you link up with other people while you're using your pokewalker and they're using theirs, then you can do some cool stuff later in the game.

Use it to get Pokemon that would normally be rare. If you're lucky to have gotten Yellow Forest via the Wifi event tht's happening now, you'll have a shot at Flying and Surfing Pikachu.

What kind of DS is it? If it's an original or Lite, you need to change your connection security to WEP. I suggest doing so only when you need to, though. WPA and up will work on the DSi, so if you have one of those it must be something else.

Re: Pokemon Heartgold and soul silver
I beat the game completely today, around 7PM or so. But not with my original team!
With ma all lvl100 FireRed Team!
Team was made up of;
Butterfree
Raichu
Nidoking
Pidgeot
Vaporeon
Charizard
...ok, yes, I used AP, BUT they were all around lvl 85-91 before I pumped them with Rare Candies!
Even still, it was a Very tough battle, that last one. Did you know Snorlax Can learn Blizzard?!

Snorlax has been able to learn Blizzard since first gen, in fact, that made Snorlax one of the best choices to counter Mewtwo back then. But yeah, Red is not easy. I mean, I beat him with my team at level 62, but that's besides the point.
And Butterfree? May I honestly ask why?

I could say the same for your Bellossom
, but my Butterfree is actually a powerful SPA user. Knows Psychic, Toxic, Giga Drain, Bug Buzz, and can whoop ya if ya mess with it!

Re: Pokemon Heartgold and soul silver
I only beat Red cuz I grabbed me Mewtwo and taught it Thunder. And cuz my Typhlosion is awesome and took down Venusaur and Charizard with Flamethrower and Rollout respectively.Fusion wrote:Snorlax has been able to learn Blizzard since first gen, in fact, that made Snorlax one of the best choices to counter Mewtwo back then. Also, for anyone that hasn't gotten it, bring along a Dark Type for Mewtwo and just wittle its health down, its only damaging move is Psycho Cut when you catch it. I caught it in a dusk ball. I believe that the only pokemon I have in an Ultra Ball is Ditto, but that's because the Ultra Ball is my arch-nemesis. And I plan on saving the Master Ball and catching some crappy Pokemon with it or hocking it off on the GTS, and I only have one legendary left to go.
EDIT: Anyone got a Riolu I could have? Heh, I lost my Diamond and I really want a Lucario in SS, but can't wait, like, 65 more days.

Urgh...stuck on Lance in the Elite Four. My Pokemon are quite a few levels below his, though I've come so far I do not want to start over. Outrage has to be the most annoying move that he uses. Thunder also always seems to hit, too.

And you can never seem to get Thunder to hit either, right?
It can be done. I did it with Feraligatr and Ice Fang. And lots of Revives/Full Heals/Full Restores.

And a lot of luck.
or a lot training until they are lvl60 like I did :p
Any way, I just tried out the Pokéthon or what ever its spelled, and it was really fun! Still, even with that, I would have liked to see the contests return. I also caught all of the running dogs yesterday and Ho-oh, so now the R/B/Y/FR/LG birds, Mewtwo, and Groudon remains. I'll just send over the other two elementals and teh god from my Pearl game.
Oh Fluffy, once I get my Wi-Fi setup, I'll try to get you the guy you want.

That's what I'm trying. I usually send out Ampharos to kill Gyrados in one hit, then I send out Golem to dish out some damage with one Rock Throw, as Outrage makes it faint in two hits, and then I send out Feraligatr with Ice Fang and just hope for the best.ggctuk wrote:And you can never seem to get Thunder to hit either, right?

You're gonna despise Lance when you go through the E4 again. Trust me.Ping wrote:That's what I'm trying.
