Custom Object + Texture Help.

After a long time, I finnaly got my mod tools to work again, got 3dsmax 9, a MSH convter, and paint.net.The problem, I made an object (little house) and also a wood texture for it, so I could put it into my custom map.Now I have made a ODF, and MSH folder in my custom map's WORLD folder (where I always put them), except my texture won't show up in game or the editor.The object shows up, but it is a solid greyish colour, witch I know means the texture is missing.
Here's what I did.Made a object in 3dsmax, saved it as wood_house.wrl,
put it into the MSH converter, saved it newly as wood_house.msh.
Then went into Paint.net made a texture 512x512, saved it wood_house.tga.
Put wood_house.msh , and wood_house.tga into my MSH folder in the location stated above. Went into my ODF folder made a new text document(then saved as a .ODF.) and it looked like this

classlabel = "prop"
GeometryName = "wood_house.msh"
[Properties]
GeometryName = "wood_house"
then after all that I save it as a .odf file, then go into the editor, open up my, map put my object in, (still a grey house), then save, munge (no errors), run my map, and finnally still a grey house.
does anyone know what Im doing wrong here?, cause I would really like to make objects with texutres, instead of just grey objects

You need to UV and apply the texture to the model in 3Ds Max first, then export it with either Tipam's Msh Viewer or RepSharpShooter's MeshEx. Look both of those up in the forums for how to use them.

so uh, just apply a uv wrap moddifier, apply the texture within 3dsmax, convert into a .MSH?, I have the MSH Viewer (thats the name) I got it off of the starwarsfilefront, can I still use that, cause it changes .wrl files into a .MSH , and thats what I export from 3dsmax.(.wrl)
Finally, aside from all this,are my folders, odfs, and msh's all set up good?

Since your object does show up, all your setup in the Folders and ZE is fine. But to make a texture show up on any model anywhere, you need to create a UV map on the texture you made/wish to use. Simply making the .msh and texture the same name as eachother won't work.

ya, so I did this: made a new object in 3dsmax, make a new texture in Paint.net.Applyed the texture to the object, did a uvw unwrap, textured it right, exported as .wrl , put it into the swbfviewer (or something like that, the MSH viwer =/) then converted it as a .MSH.
Now I made a new map,folders, and an ODF, put it into the folder.In the editor, now my object shows up all textured, and looking good

, except...it now dosnt show up in game
Any ideas?

Did you make sure RLE compression was unchecked when you saved your tga file?
If not then do a save as with the same name and uncheck the box.

Yup, un-checked it when I saved the texture, the object textured shows up in the editor when I place it, but in game nothing shows up, not even the object :S
And forgot to mention, there are no errors when I munge.

In any case RLE would cause a crash, wouldn't it?
Any error log messages?
Oh, and so you know, Filefront isn't that much of a ghost town. People who know how to mod still look through there, I for one.

O sorry

well, I made a new object , and same thing it shows up in the editor when I place it, with the texture on it, but when I munge (no errors) , then I load up my map in-game the object does not show up at all, and nothing is in it's place...just uh blank.

Yes, you have no mungelog, but I'm asking if there's anything related to it in the error log, which is different.

eh is there any other way to get a bferror log cause I dont wanna download that file for the dvd version, and whenever I try to run the one from the modtools it says bink something was not found, and when I put it in the starwars main folder it says insert disc 1.OR is there any other suggestions on why it isnt working, plus I though the error log was only for crashes :S , I might be wrong correct me if so.

If you have the DVD version of the game, you need to download that file. The reason being that the one that comes with the tools has a CD check, which prevents DVD version users from accessing it.
