A weird texture problem

Post by agzilla123 »

Ok, for once, this is not a desperate cry for help. :D I would just like to no what is going on, and if any one else has experienced this. If you play the original Geonosis map that came with Star Wars Battlefront 2, you will probably notice that the texture is not that bad and that it blends in well. Well, if anyone has modded a Geonosis map, meaning modified the original one, they will notice that right off the bat, the texture looks different than it does when you play the original one. It is an obvious giveaway because some of the props don't match the texture. If you haven't modded a Geonosis map, look at the loading screen for the original one. If it is a picture of Geonosis, look at the ground and you will see what I mean.

Does anybody know why this happens? I used the guide in the everything you need to know thread on how to edit a shipped map.

This isn't really a problem though, as it can be easily fixed. I just want to know why it is is happening. So, any help would be appreciated.

Possibly beta assets from Pandemic, Tantive IV as example

Post by AceMastermind »

Not sure, it could be that some of the assets Pandemic gave us in the modtools were possibly beta assets that weren't used in the shipped maps, for example I recall someone posting about the hallways on the shipped Tantive IV map being slightly different than the hallway objects that we have in the assets.

Ok, thanks AceMastermind! I think you are probably right, and it is a very easy problem to fix.

Anyone else have this kind of problem with another map, because it might be very helpful to compile a big list just so people no what to expect. It came as a big shock to me when I saw the texture on the modded map.

Like I said if anyone else has had a problem like that, feel free to post! :D
