If you mean what I think you mean, that is not how texturing is handled in XSI. In the tutorials sticky, there is a texturing tutorial by Lord-Bandu. Follow the six-step process that is partway down the page.

the easiest way to do it without doing a bunch of crap lke disconnecting components is to turn it to the polygon selection filter thats inside the UV editor and then change it back to vertice and unselect the verts you dont wanna move using ctrl+shift+click and then move the one thats left over.
