Subject: skins are invisible

Hey, I have a small problem. Certain skins either don’t appear or are very very faded when I open them in Paint.net. I’m not sure if this is a modtools error, my computer, or a problem with Paint.net.

Here are some screenshots of some of the troublesome skins.

Any ideas?

Response:
Hm, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't recommend Paint.net since it can't save in TGA's and you have to transfer it over to photoshop or GIMP to save it.
If you don't have any other image-editing program, I'd suggest GIMP.

Subject: GIMP does't work either

Hey, I downloaded GIMP and tried opening some of those messed-up skins that were super-faded, and it didn’t show them any better than Paint.net. By now, I’m convinced that some of my skins that I downloaded were corrupted, but do you think that the problem might be my computer? I’m not sure...

Response:

Hm, I'm really not sure, I'll post it on GT.

That's just the alpha channel on the tga. Save it as 24 bit to get rid of it or w/e. The alpha channel is just used for effects such as specular. It determines how much goes where or something like that.

Thanks Taivyx! I can now see the skins as they are! It was probably that back when I had my old computer, and I could see them, was caused because the old photo editor didn't support alpha channels or something! Anyways, the image is still a little light, is it suppost to be like that?
Thanks again!

Paint.net can actually save in tga, and without RLE.

Yup! I've been skinning using Paint.net for several months now; prehaps you were using an older version Taivyx?

Anyways, thanks again!
