Is there any way that when using poly select tool to NOT select what is on the other side of the polies you select?

Well, you can always use raycast...
If you're using the mod tool, in the selection section, there is a small button with a paper on it. Click on that, and then you have to check/uncheck something (forgot which, lawlz)

Or, you can press U on your keyboard as a shortcut to raycast select polygons ...
