Thanks!

I agree with Delta-1035, the helmet looks a bit strange.

LCVPs were really big, believe me they could hold 30-40 troops. And with the artillery it's BF2, everything is under-detailed. If I made it anymore high-poly then there would be a lot of lag.

Also, that helmet reminded me that I forgot to post the helmet I made here. Also note the uniform and gun he's holding, those are custom made by me also :D .
Thanks to Meshtool 4 for the envmap!

Wait a second, is that soldier supposed to be German or American?

Oh and the weapon texture looks a bit off to the side to me, other than that it looks pretty good.

The soldier is German; he is carrying an MP-40 and his helmet has this eagle on it:

I hate having to post that here, but I just want you to understand what I am talking about. Btw, great SVT-40 Model!

Oh sorry, it's the helmet that threw me off, it's not really German.

Real German helmets looked like this (and were without the eagle):

As you can see it had a VERY distinctive shape to it, a shape that your version is lacking.

Ah a Schutzstaffel helmet, yeah those helmets didnt look much like the Nazis, didnt the pilot class from SWBF1 have a helmet very similar to theres? Thats what i always thought when I play with them?

I just felt that the LCVP looked too "tall", as opposed to what is depicted in this diagram: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... P-plan.gif

Lots of nice models here nonetheless. :)

Please, don't env map the helmets, makes them look lousy and completely unrealistic. Just bake a Ambient Occlusion map using the render properties in XSI, then put it on top of your texture as a new layer in GIMP/Photoshop and set it to multiply and do one blur pass on it. Then make a bump map for the helmet, that consists primary of small dots and pit marks to add sub-surface detail.

If you do env/gloss/specular the helmet dont make it so strong, and it would primarily apply to freshly produced helmets, not ones that have seen action.

4 Variations of WW2 German Infantry helmets. Notice in the pics how the specularity/shiny-ness is confined to only where he light hits the fresh paint on it? The 4th pic is one that has seen some use.

I'm starting to become a real SW-TCW addict, since I also took reference for a lot of heroes from it.. I thought this one couldn't stay behind! Small edit, just like Yoda, still it's something different :)

Not my best or most complicated model, but it adds nice to the Republic side on Ryloth!

Very nice! :D only criticism would be that his chest and abdomen don't have enough distinction between each other. WOuld love to see him textured/ingame!

I hope that thing floats, because there's no back leg to keep it upright.

*sits down*
unng!
*falls backwards*

other than that, its a very nice model, looks pretty pro.
