Brackets in FX Files

Post by trainmaster611 »

I've been having a lot of trouble with one particular file lately. I've been trying to combine two effects with notepad. In the past, I've always been able to get it to work without any problems.

This time however, its not working. Usually I take those last set of closing brackets and insert the new emitters after the first closing bracket.

I keep getting getting a missing bracket error in the effect in the PC Munge Log and the map is crashing with a fatal. Just as a reference point, how do you all combine your effects in relation to the brackets?

Which .fx are you trying to combine? And why aren't you using PE to combine them? It's about a two-click process in PE.

Well I never new you could do that in PE :? But that's irrelevant now because I can't use PE.

It was the lasertrail effect and a custom effect (using the mortartrail template).

Just send them to me, and I'll take care of it for you. Then you can see what it looks like in the text file, too.
