Make the terrain 8x16,384. Proceed to make a high speed racing map.

Is there alot of race maps? I only found like 2 on filefront. This sounds like it could be fun to make imo as a next map. Something ala Rouge Squadron tatooine races. Or even Shadow of the empires one race level. Or a endor forest race...dantooine stormy valley. I have ideas flowing through me
Maybe even a space race. I want to race a x-wing through an asteroid field. Maybe these exist and
I haven't searched enough....

I've been thinking about a steampunk-themed map/side mod. Imagine a steampunk Super Battledroid or Darktrooper. As for maps, it would be interesting to see a map like Bespin Platforms or Cloud city reimagined in steampunk architecture.

Why hasn't anyone made an Iron Man mod yet?
I'd go make one BUT I:
suck at texturing
suck at modeling
I can make effects for the jetpack(I'll position them on the feet) and hand lazors though.

If you aren't very good at those things, why not make an attempt to improve on them?

because learning ressources are often expensive

ive bought a 6 month digital tutors subscription and learned a lot. sadly theres no legal way to get this training offline. There are still some dvds out there but they are expensive too

Well hey, I've tried modeling, but when I sit through tutorials I get so restless. I do have the necessary software, however. I like to use Maya to create the model and then transfer it over to XSI and then convert it to a .msh for SWBF2. And sure, there's tons of tutorials on texturing.
And I'll bet there's a tutorial on how to make an Iron Man model.

Practice and dedication is free, though, so you got ripped off.

It is coming... slowly.

Hi, I'm new to this and wanted to know if I could ask for a map to the battlefront, if I can I'd like a map of the Sarlacc pit with skiffes and Jabba's barge with Luke, Han, Leia, Chewi, Lando and R2-D2 as heroes and Boba, Gamorrean guards and Skiffe guards as villains.
THANKS Darthpepo1

How about a phase 1.5/2 arc trooper side mod?

said this before somewhere else in the GT galaxy but here it is again.
I would like a person who can map for me.
There I said it.

Basic modeling and texturing would be great 'cause it needs all the bells and whistles. I can do all this myself, but heck, help a poor guy speed his mod up will ya

You have already asked this before in the request thread, but since this is the mod/map idea thread, it would probably be a good idea to explain the details behind the map(s) you would like made. Otherwise, people would be much less interested in helping you out.

it is brief because I like dedication. It is best to ask just for help and have people PM me for the details. I already have some interested helpers.

It's brief for a request, but not for an idea. This particular topic is for mod/map ideas like its title suggests, not requests. You already asked for help once in the request thread before, and
you kept it pretty brief too. You obviously didn't get all the help you needed the first time around, hence why you're asking for help again a second time. Since you decided to post in the mod/map idea thread of all places, why not take advantage of the topic and elaborate in detail the maps you want made?
JimmyAngler wrote:it is brief because I like dedication.
What does being brief have anything to do with liking dedication? Is someone less dedicated to making maps if they decided to help you out while knowing the details of your map ideas beforehand? Seems like a lousy test for dedication. All I'm saying is if you change up your strategy, you would most likely get more help than you have now and in fewer steps.

I realized you got your help already, but only after having to ask twice, which is completely unnecessary.
I was letting you know for future references that you shouldn't:
- post vague requests in a topic for ideas
- post a vague request multiple times
- post a vague request at all
What you should do instead is make one detailed request in the topic for requests, and leave it at that. This will prevent clutter on the forum and ensure that you get help quicker, if at all. And no, this isn't my opinion.

I think someone should create a Star Wars: Bounty Hunter map which has jango hunting down someone. I think it would also be cool to have similar animations/models to the game. I also think someone could change jango's weapons so that it is more movie accurate (rockets coming out of jetpack, not wrist, toxic darts, wrist flamethrower, and maybe even a whipcord)
