Sound problem with KotOR II [Solved]

I've just installed KotOR II, and it crashes before it loads the game. After a some time, I decide to disable the sound from the configure menu, which stops the crashing. Of course, I wish to have sounds in the game, so how do I fix this? I believe I had a similar problem with BFII on this PC, but I've forgotten how I fixed that...

I had a problem like this. I'm pretty sure what I did was had sound enabled and ran the game through the launcher itself, not the menu. It crashed about 80% of the time but every so often it would work with sound. I probably just had a strange stroke of luck though. I vaguely remember trying to run it in compatibility mode for XP. Don't recall if it worked though.

Do you have Windows Vista or Windows 7? If the answer is yes, then Kotor2 is going to be a pain in the Diet Dr. Pepper to get to work.

If you have XP, then idk, but I found that ^ using google when I had problems installing Kotor 2 on my Vista comp and later my Win7 latoptop.

Thanks very much Twilight_Warrior! All I had to do was download the vista fix that was on that page. Now the game runs without the sound disabled! This can be locked now.
