Hello, Gametoasters!

Since I am working on a Map for Gametoast's Contest ( Check first page ), I decided to post this Topic. There is not so much information for now, but I can give you one picture :

Image

As you can see on the Screenshot above, you can see it is in Pure Comic Style. The map is Duckburg, the city you can find in various of Disney© Comics.

Do you have any suggestions for this modification, please post !...

Thanks!

- Linus

Hey,

this screen looks nice so far... hopefully you can give us some more screens soon...

I have an idea for your map: Make all characters in a comic style... it would fit better to the environment. And it would be more fun to kill other comic characters.... maybe you can make comic weapons...

Good luck for this map!

Carth

Interesting.

You should definatly use the comic style effects that are in the modtools, the baf, zaf, bam thingies :D Also be sure to make the characters looks comic-like too or it'll look weird IMO

It would be cool if you could make comic book-y versions of the star wars armies(with effects like Carth and The_Emperor said).

YAY, Fort Duckburg! :D. This will be the old fort right? Is it going to be next to the sea (seen in the comics about scrooge's youth)? I hope you are going for the Scrooge and his fort against the navy/american president battle . "I'm going to use what weapons we have; the fort itselve" and "sir watch out, the watchtower" -"what? a Sniper?" "No sir, I mean the watchtower itselve.".... sorry for going into fanboy mode :P.
Good luck!

If you need comic style skins, I can do it, but I'll need the skins for all of the characters cause I don't currently have the mod tools installed.

I have NO idea of it is possible, but maybe you could try making Cel-Shaded skins? (Think Clone Wars Mini-Cartoons/Zelda: WindWaker)

When I have created some more House Models in the Mod Tool version of XSI, I will give you some new screenshots...

I have been thinking about those effects, they are very suitable for this map.

Sorry to say this, RC', but this is the ''modern'' Duckburg. Actually, now when you are telling me this, that battle would be very suitable for a game. Maybe I could have a Fort Duckburg model in a Secret Area...

Jedi Knight 3 had a nice Cartoon-like model pack, located right here.
I know, converting is a pain, but it would even be enough if you only converted the clone trooper and the B-1.

That's different, Protector Pulch. Those models used a cel shader, which BFII doesn't support. If he took the time to convert them, he would get misproportioned, badly textured, and overpolied units.

Uncountable numbers of people has suggested that, Protector'. Like t551' said, the Game's Engine does not support this kind of Shaders, so it will never happen.

By the Way, post more Questions / Suggestions for the map, please!

More screenshots please. Pretty Please!
Well most of the main questions have been asked, but here's my question: Will there be cute little locals in the map? Which I can shoot Image

I'd like to see more progress on the map in the future :D

Well, X', when I have more models finished and in-game, I will give you more screenshots. It is a pain to make the textures for all the Objects, so it will maybe take some time. Actually, I have been thinking about the locals. Let's face it, a city needs people. So it is very possible that I add them, but nothing for sure now...
