OK this is becoming a very annoying problem for me. I am working on a map and want to place an object. The only problem is that the object is facing the wrong way and I have no idea how to rotate the object. I've spent some time trying to figure it out, like hitting rotate in the object menu it says
Rotate
15

I hit rotate several times try changing the number and everything but the object remains the same. Please help me if you can thanks.

Don't ever bother with the rotate box in the menu.

Instead:
1) Left click your object when it's placed.
2) Press and hold Z or X (doesn't matter for rotation).
3) Use your middle mouse button (the scroll wheel), to rotate the object.

Use your other mouse buttons to flip it different ways, too!

1) Go to the BF2_ModTools\documentation folder.
2) Open up ZeroEditor_guide.doc.
3) Actively read it for numerous ways to navigate and use Zero Editor, including how to rotate objects.

Thank you so much, my map will be much easier to make now. The reason I didn't know how to rotate is that the zero editor guides speak in a very confusing language but i will look harder in the future. Thanks!

If the zeroeditor guides are too difficult for you, check this out:

However, it would be a good idea just to grit your teeth and read the documentation. It answers a lot of questions.

It does matter depending on how the object was set up in XSI. The "root" isn't always at the center of the object. One example of this is dea1_bldg_over_bridge_corridor.odf, place it in ZE then select it and try rotating it with Z or X.

Thanks Yuke5 that is the guide I am currently using but nothing was mention about rotating, hence my confusion. Well those guides aren't going to read themselves, I am sure more questions will be asked by me in the future so until then Peace.

Ah, thanks Ace. I must have missed that. :)
