Elite Sides Mod Version 2: Beta 0.9

Hello! Yes it is really me, I am back, hopefully for good.

You see, the story of my absense goes back about a year, when I discovered this little game called MovieBattles II, and I progressively got more and more drawn into it, until I became the very essence of a noob. But then a game called Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach came along and I met some people who helped me come back to reality, and to responsiblilty. It was then that I remembered my promise, made months ago, about this mod, and began working hard.

And now it's done (well, nearly). In fact, the only things Missing are Penguin's Magnaguard model and magnastaff.

This is a beta, with everything final except for the models. I bet some of you thought that I got a life and moved on; that I forgot the nearly 2 years I spent here, building friendships and having fun. However, I did not, and am back.

EDIT: Bah.... silly me, forgot installation instructions :?

Go to your Star Wars Battlefront II/GameData/Data/_LVL_PC/SIDE folder, and make backups of your all.lvl, allshell.lvl, imp.lvl, impshell.lvl, cis.lvl, cisshell.lvl, rep.lvl, and repshell.lvl. Then, unsip this zip to that SIDE folder, and run your game. (NOTE: many user-made maps will not work with a side mod installed.)

UPDATES: (note: these are not available for download yet as of a bug with the magnastaff)
SBD can no longer jump.
*Shadow trooper for republic (need skin)
*Magnaguard has proper magnastaff (model screw-up)
Deflect is changed to be per-blaster bolt instead of over time
A280 tweaked
DC-15A tweaked
*Wookiee has melee wampa attacks (need to fix effects)
some vehicles won't work (again, complete mystery)
many other things that I can't remember right now.

I think that some of these are related to me having the SWBF conversion pack installed.

No idea waht this map is exactly but ill download. If i like it enough ill make a movie about it. u convinced me with the Avatar. I love that scene. :p

EDIT: I can't download it. For some reason it just keeps saying contcating server and nothing???? :?: :?:

Well, It happens that I'm too young to have seen Elite Sides Mod Version 1, so I ask: What is this mod all about ?

PS: woaah, that avatar drives me nuts, I get the feeling the forum was moving, and you avatar was more or less a window ... creepy.

meh i guess i will 2. Even though it will replace my customized sides and what not. TELL ME these will work with the swbf1 map pack!

Why is everyone too lazy to tell what this mod changes ? I don't want to waste an hour downloading only to find out that I don't like the mod, especially because I've already got an side mod. (namely, the TEC mod)

Does it add the B1 Battledroid to the CIS side? And does it work with the BF1 conversion pack, from what you say, it seems you haven't tested it. The TEC Mod worls with (most) of the BF1 conversion pack, so I am going to wait for you answer before I download. Namely because its a big file.

hmm... yes this mod works with most of it, but certain maps crash.

and this mod changes the default sides, of all shipped maps, if you had re-read my first post you would've learned that.

alright, update: SBD chunks are fixed, and DC-15s pistol sounds are being looked at. Penguin appears to have not gotten my pm, so I'll resend it

This is a great mod :D I really like the magna guard, it has not maul's moves but droid moves, I like that.
The storm commando I also really liked.
As allways I love the Clone Commando.

But:
The clone commando's weapon is not seen in first person mode.
The CIS has the advantage.
I was a bit dissapointed about the ARC-trooper, cause it has the commander's weapon :? and not it's own.

I would prefer an other wookiee that would better fit like the 1 from KashyyyK: Trandoshan Raid from Crichton. It has claws!!!
I see it allready in front of me, A wookiee with claws, bowcaster and a WHRL :twisted: (Wookiee Homing Rocket Launcher) if Penguin agrees of course (she has that 1), just like with Crichton's claws.

What about a nice Shadow trooper with a blaster, stealth, fusion cutter and auto turret instead of the engineer? :mrgreen:

I noted something in the read-me though:
You said in the credits Jesuss, instead of JesusCrist our lord and savior as you used to. :wink: (sorry for spelling wrong or else i get word not allowed).

uhm..... the Galactic marine (what they call the "clone commander") never used the Z-6 Rotary blaster cannon, where as arcs used it many times.

If penguin would respond to my pms, then I would be able to add a whole lot of stuff, but she apparently is away...

That could be done... yes that is quite possible.

Yeah I know, but, it's just... a strange weapon..... and bad aiming... I prefer a blaster then that, most impressive would be the Westar-M5 from arc's like Alpha... some are trying to make it like jabba, it's really nice, but after all it's your discision.


BTW: nice to hear from you again.

edit: off-topic: Is something wrong with my sev avatar or am I the only 1 that is seeing those x.

In which case, tell the hi-res model to be the same as the low-res model in the weapon's ODF file.
