wow man, this map was great! i was playin it at a solid 12 fps(cus foilage and an old graphics card dont mix) and still loved it. THe units- the renaming of everything combined with new units was confusing at first, but after about 1 life u get the hang of it. The weapon setups are sweet, i like the lack of pilots 9they dont really feel endor-ish,). The new skinds for some are sweet, also the new weapons are brilliant. My favorite part- the waveskimmer! That baby was beautiful, like a mystical segull in full stride. The animations and feel of driving it were perfect, and it was soo much fun to flank the enemy. I had 2 probs w/ it tho, both minor and 1 prob not the maps fault- firts is when ur not in, it seems to be driving into the land, and the other was that i never managed to get any bots in it with me(my fault). I liked the strategy you needed in the map, altyhugh the imps had a serious advantage(maybe just me, its hard to shoot w/ an atst accurately (even at a hulking atat) with slow framerates. The rebs having jawas as friends and still gaining score for shooting them added sum serious strategy, as in when and when not to take their cp. also the ability to capture OR destroy the generator is a nice touch, even deeper strategy. This map would probably be my favorite map if i had a halfway decent computer, so that basically means its awesome, for lack of better words :)

Gentlemen,

I am truly pissed...

that there have been issues getting this # of a # to the SWBF community @ Gametoast.

As I am crippled by email Mb limitations, I am unable to send direct.

With effect 13:30 hrs GMT this file should be up on Filefront and available for download.

Guru, you are more than welcome to host this here.

Chubby, same - you are welcome to host where and whenever.

I will edit and confirm details as they become available.

Thanks for your patience.

wait- wait out team

make that 14:00... not an exact science.

The atmospher of the map rocks! It feels like star wars!
Even the best mappers have never made me feel like I'm there!
(Rends might do it)It's just the forest enviroment is so immersive.
And the AT-ST's ambient sound!! Destroy the rebel scum!

This is probably the best Endor map I've played. This is a really intricately styled map and very faithful to how the battle of Endor was in the movie. I do think that a lot of brush should be taken out, however because when riding speeder bikes, you tend to crash....... a lot!!. Other than that, I think the new weapons for different troops is awesome, no more weak pilots, hehe. I think ticket bleed might need to be implemented a little better as well as more tickets because the level ends too quickly. A kick Diet Dr. Pepper first effort.

This map really kills my fps, but from what I've seen, excellent job. Really felt like the Endor from the movies... this is how the real Endor should have been. I especially like the radio sounds in the AT-ST and AT-AT; gives in that realistic feel to it... what was it saying anyway? "Destroy the Rebel Scum!" or something like that? It was a bit choppy... but that's even better, since it just adds to the realism. I loved just sneaking around in the underbrush (even though my computer was lagging like there's no tomorrow) and getting the jump on my enemies. I agree with Tyler though; remove some of the foliage, that way it's not so laggy, and a little easier to pilot around. I found it pretty hard to get around in the AT-AT... great job all the same.

Directors Commentary [LOL] big post warning...

Thanks for the great commentary guys.

I will take the framerate issue in hand, and you can expect to see a "thin client" version of the map [reduced foliage, possibly no intro movie] on filefront at some point in the near future.

What is needed at this point in time is player feedback on GT [and ratings at Filefront]

First, I'd like to make a couple of comments about the basic premise for the map itself.

The breakdown for the Imperial troops mirrors what we have actually seen in ANH-ESB-ROTJ. That's why I discarded the AT-ST crewman, preferring to include the Imperial officer as ground troops rather than mech are the most visible.
The skiff was the logical way to patrol waterways- you carry 4, and have three cannon. The fightertank just didn't fit in.

Weapon & equipment loadouts for the Imperials:
DLT-19 is a big angry kick-Diet Dr. Pepper "sweeper" and it kills things good, at range.
The T-21 is referred to as one step below a mounted or emplaced repeating blaster. I really wanted to see these in game.
The Imperial Scout gained grenades, remote droids but lost the "sniper" role. Officers are clever people- cough- and are the caretakers of people and equipment. Pauldron colors actually designate rank, but are great for quick reference and give atmosphere.

AT-AT & AT-ST got the comms chatter back- it's locked out in the atst.odf under cockpit chatter.
AT-AT gained orbital strike as pilot secondary, and got a darker skin.
I put the AT-ST launcher back in, kept the effect the same and took the liberty of allowing it to be guided. The RP60 head mounted cannon was tweaked to deliver the same effect without becoming too overwhelming.

Loadouts for the Alliance:
Well, we know they had zip on the ground...
More grenades, mines and bullets, but less pistols more rifles.
The skins reflect the appearrance of the Alliance on Endor.
No vehicles unless borrowed.

It's a dense, tight map for large vehicles. That was the plan. Makes life difficult.

The Ewoks were going to eat Han, Luke & Leia. Not everyone has a spare R2 or protocol droid, and it ties down a fair number of Imperial troops for some time unless you deal with it.

I still enjoy playing LONG VALLEY, and it's been on the bench for a while. The map as it stands is Diet Dr. Pepper near exactly what I set out to do.

Although it's a shameless Imperial showcase, the AI still goes either way, and that still makes me laugh.

I'll shut up now. In closing:

A BIG THANK YOU TO GAMETOAST, SATURNLABS, PSYCHOFRED, RENDS & ALL THOSE MODDERS who have taken the time to teach others & document knowledge.

PROSIT- CHEERS.

EndLV.rar downloaded from server3.download @ filefront.com

45.5 Mb at a transfer rate of approx. 31.8 KB/sec, took just shy of 25 minutes.

Opened EndLV.rar archive with WinRAR.
Available free at: http://www.download.com/3000-2250-10007677.html

Extracted the complete EndLV folder to the AddOn directory.
For me this was: C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\AddOn

Opened SW Battlefront, single player, instant action, selected the game. Worked fine, first time, every time.

Try a different server at filefront. Or wait out till GT Admin decide whether or not it cuts it as a mod map and post it here.

I am sympathetic, but I've done the best I can at this time. Good Luck.

You probably put the wrong folder in... because after you extract the zip, it has something like three sub-folders or something. For me, it's:

Desktop/EndLV/EndLV/EndLV (<-- that's the one you'll want)

At least, I think that's how it goes... I'm too lazy to check...

VERY IMPORTANT! To fix framerate issues, decrease lod and view distance, and other settings. The view is still great!

BK, why did you make the Ewoks mutally hostile?
