Does the damage get applied when the bolt hit, or when the gun is fired? Anyways, it still looks funny. :)

I noticed tracer fire from snipers but this appears to be about 50% more tracer length(time). Does the orbital use this same idea then, show firing tracers for longer so it appears a a giant beam?

Yes, most laser rifles, the sniper rifle, orbital strike and this all use the ordnance class "bolt". By adjusting the Velocity and LifeSpan paramters you can get the different effects.

standard Rifle : V = 150, L = 0.8
sniper : V = 2000, L = 0.15
orbital : V = 300, L = 3.0
bullet time : 4.0, L = 16

as the "bullet time" bolt moves very slowly, I had to increase the LifeSpan or it just disappears a coule of metres in front of you.

Re: Nimlot - i think it does damage, I've not been able to hit anything yet, lol. You can dance in and out of the beam without taking damage though.

There was a mod on ET that drawn to all the bolts fired a trajectory line.

It was very usefull for training SMG aim.

Can be implemented in swb with some modify to the velocity setting?

i have an idea , you know when using the wookie bowcaster , you can charge for more lasers. maybe you could make a new weopon for a class (or even a new class) that you can charge the weopon to shoot a long beam(line the big spider droid) or just a long beam like you have in the pic (but the same velocity as a normal blast ( or maybe faster if the charge time is worked out right ...for balancing reasons )

anyway just an idea ;)

Or you can make the bullets bounce off the walls for the bowcaster like in real Star Wars. :)

"make the bullets bounce "

there is a Rebound parameter, but I can't figure out if that's what it's for. I'm thinking "Trash Compactor"....
