What's Up With Hoth?

Has anyone noticed that hoth doesnt like mods? It always crashes when i have a mod for some reason. Is there a way to fix it?

Yes, it's hard to mod hoth, but a little while ago I read a fix for the problem, trouble is I can't remember the topic name or the fix. I looked using the forum "Search" tool, but couldn't find the topic. So there is a answer to your question out there I just don't have it at the moment!

Hoth fix

It is a problem with the mission lvl, you need to get battle belks mission editor:

Edit:
Open the Hoth script [hot1i] and find this:
Hidden/Spoiler:
-- Local Stats
SetTeamName(3, "Local")
AddUnitClass(4, "imp_droid_probe", 1);
SetUnitCount(4, 1)
SetTeamAsEnemy(3,DEF)
SetTeamAsFriend(3,ATT)
Change it to this:
Hidden/Spoiler:
-- Local Stats
-- SetTeamName(3, "Local")
-- AddUnitClass(4, "imp_droid_probe", 1);
-- SetUnitCount(4, 1)
-- SetTeamAsEnemy(3,DEF)
-- SetTeamAsFriend(3,ATT)
Save and munge new mission lvl.

thanks! didnt hoth originally have probe droids as a locals? If i change the lua in the default maps can i still play online?

its best to make just a prop odf for it and not even put it in the map

Don't really want to post here, but thought I needed to say something.

Just wanted to confirm the odf addition of the probe to your IMP side was a better solution for me. Sadly, I wished this post was created some months ago (would have saved some fustrations).

Even with the taking away the Probe in mission.lvl, I still had various errors with my alternate Hoth map not ending properly on online servers alongside the IMP side mod. The IMP .req file still needed to refer to the probe on the server side. When I altered both, the errors increased. Once I added the odf, the errors went away for me.

Mod tool is wrong with IMP side (some ODF, MSH are missing) and it dosent count 1.2 patch changes.
I have added request ODFs, MSHs and fixed for 1.2 changes.

It will create alsmost same original 1.2 IMP.lvl (I cant get it exatcly same couse for some msh shadows seems to be a bit not same but its not so important)
