Here's how to see what the shipped space maps have done in flyer splines (a good example always helps):

Start Modtools.exe in your GameData folder (if it ain't there, go put it there) and load any of the shipped space maps.

After the map has loaded and the game has started press the ~ button (directly below the escape button DONT USE THE SHIFT KEY). This brings up the command interface.

first press enter twice.

Type in this and then press enter:

DrawEntityPaths

That will make the paths show up in game.

Just so you don't get shot down also type in this and press enter:

invincible

Press the ~ button again to get back to the game (once again NO SHIFT KEY). Get some popcorn and watch the ais do their stuff.

Edit: I just took a look at Space Tatooine and I must say HOLY **** we've got our work cut out for us.

I've got a problem. The " ~ " key doesn't bring up the control interface. (Note about my keyboard: you have to press SHIFT for it to type the ~ character, otherwise, it types the ` character)

Any idea how to fix this?

you don't need to use the shift key. Just press "`"

I tried that first - it does nothing.

The top half of your screen has a light shade of green, correct? When you press ` it should turn a darker shade.

I think that the upper screen used to automatically be a light shade of green, but not anymore. The upper screen does turn green when I activate command mode manually using the ESC screen options, but then there's no way to get out of command mode. Question is, what happened and how do I change the settings back?

I see...sounds kinda like when I first tried to figure out the command mode. I got stuck and started pressing everything on the keyboard until I hit "`". I don't really understand what happened to yours.
