yaknow, posting the problem helps us. right now we have no idea what the problem is, or if there really is a problem.

okok! i have already readed firefeks mapping guide but ithe skins dont work!!!!!

HOW don't they work? All you're giving us to help you with is "Its not working!!"
Did you save them with RLE compression turned off?

How about looking at the link I posted and going through a tutorial from the Skinning section. This should take a good half hour if you do it properly, so don't come back in five minutes saying it doesn't work.

Let me just tell you now some tips when you first join GameToast...

1) You may be confused about everything modding wise. Ask yourself, have I read the documentations in the BF2_ModTools/documentation folder. Not just skimmed it, but read it thouroghly. Getting Started is a good one to get started on.

2) Start simple! Make sure you know how to get a map into BF2 and know how to add objects and textures (simple stuff like that.) Then, you can worry about skinning.

3) Look at the FAQ/Everthing You Need To Know thread. It is useful for EVERYTHING to get started (skinning too!)

4) Search what you are looking for first! Don't just post topics for the fun of it. You are just gonna be led back to the post that you would have found if you had searched it first!

5) If you do have to make a post then give a detailed description!!! Don't just go...
"I have a skinning problem.......Help me......" Nobody is gonna give you an answer like that.


So, those are some tips. I'm not trying to put you down, but just consider it as friendly tips.

yes, tell us what the problem is. If you say something broad like "i have a skinning problem", you will get and answer as broad as "then fix the problem"

:jango: okok! first: im not stupid! i know how to use the mod tools! but just the skins dont work! i unchecked the rle compression but IT DONT WORKS! its crashing or the units dont change! please make me a list of the staps how to change skins! its my only problem!

(ps: i REALLY must know how to change skins! its important for my new map "91. Legion - The fate of the republic" a big space map much more dificult and terrible then attempt 5! )

You obviously haven't bothered checking here, where there is a step-by-step guide to getting skins ingame.

I write you tips (practically a tutorial on how to get to the tutorial,) but you still don't listen. I still think you need to learn alot more stuff before you make a complex space map.

Did you try cleaning it before you munge?

ok! sorry! i made a stupid beginner mistake! but thanks for your time! now the skins do work! :jango:
