3D Programs that work with SWBF2 other than XSI
Yeah I must of posted tons of questions but I am a beginner. Anyway back on topic, I was wondering if there are any other 3D modeling and animation programs other than XSI to create things for SWBF2. I am wondering this because I downloaded XSI, set it up, and uninstalled it 6 times because it doesn't work right. It freezes constantly and when it opens right there is just a blank grey screen
. There are other numerous problems too
. So I am looking for another program like XSI. I have looked into Blender but I don't know if that works with SWBF2. Does it? If so I can't seem to download it.
Thanks for your help.

Blender is one of the best and easiest to convert to SWBF2.

The only problem with Blender is that it can take a while to get used to. Also, without XSI, all you can make is props, unless you get someone else to finish the model for you.
Really? Did you try both the installer and the zipped version?Starkiller2356 wrote:If so I can't seem to download it.

BIG QUESTION: What versions of Blender are compatible with SWBF2?? Are they all compatible?

Best thing to do is look at the XSI/FAQ at the top of this forum.
Scroll down to the bottom of the FAQ and there is lots of info on Blender.

All the versions of blender that can export vrml97 are "compatible" with SWBF2, you only need to keep some more designing rules in mind than with XSI (exporting error of SWBFviewer that causes that)

Blender DOES support animation, but I don't know if it can be exported into XSI/SWBF2Starkiller2356 wrote:Does anyone know why my XSI doesn't work?? I want to do animation but since Blender doesn't support that XSI is the only thing i can use. Thanks

It's probably possible to export them, but it definetely wouldn't be the best option out there. If you really do want to animate stuff, learn XSI. If that's of a lesser problem and you're more into mobility, I can recommend you Blender.

Re: 3D Programs that work with SWBF2 other than XSI
ok thanks guys I try to learn XSI and get it to work. Is there a complete beginners guide to working XSI because it is very complex?? And also up to what version can the animation and the objects be transferred to SWBF2 without any trouble??? Thanks and sorry I have a million questions but someone has to start somewhere I guess.
