Yeah, that sounds just like them. The rocket/mine/detpack spammers have no skill, it's easy to det-rush. I know, I've tried it. I personally don't go for the easiest way out, thus I use the rifleman. Rocketeer if things are
really bad(i.e. lots of engineers).
One aside for favorite unit. Rebel Sniper on Kamino. Best sniping combination there is.

Of the basic units, I would say the average trooper. However, my favorite unit over all would have to be the magnaguard. His clip for the bulldog empties really fast in a firefight, and is mortar-thing works great against turrets and light vehicles. His poison is a great last stand, and the recon droid is deadly online (not so much single-player). All in all...

Engineer - You have Dets, you can heal yourself. Your Shotgun is pretty good close quaters.
My second fav. is Trooper - But I dislike the rebel trooper.

Actually the Imperial rifle fires faster than the rifle, not the other way around(the way you said it implies the rebel rifle fires slower than normal, when it's the imperial rifle firing faster than normal). Also the Imperial does less damage than the rebel rifle.
If you can aim, the rebel rifle is the way to go.

anyway the rebel blaster only does 15 points more damage than the empire's one.
empire's rifle is 120.4819277...% faster than the rebel one.
emp rifle takes 7 shots to kill rebel one takes 6 shots. it takes an emp 1.162 seconds to kill a unit while it takes a rebel 1.2 seconds to kill a unit. this is based on the average health of a unit which is 400. (snipers have 300, rocketeers have 550, wookiees have 800, last time i checked).
so technically empire gun is a bit better. its close either way. it takes the empire rifle an extra shot to kill yet it puts out its 7 shots before the other can put out 6.

Yes, math is all fine and dandy. The problem is that's as if both units are firing at eachother point blank, not moving, and aiming at the chest. Everyone is going to be different when using them. I personally have found the rebel rifle to be superior to the Imperial rifle. I don't know about you, but I aim for the head when using the rifle. The reduced damage is a pain on the imperial rifle, as I get about the same number of shots on target for both rifles.

takes 2 headshots with the empire gun to kill and the same for the rebel one, so if you are aimming for the head then the empire one would be better.
i must say this though, the SBD blaster beats us all with its 90 damage per shot.

My favorite would probably be the Clone Rifleman, because for some reason, running out and shooting works best for me. Seriously, like I don't really die. I'm really good with the AWARD rifles and pistols.
However, I strongly dislike the Imperial Officer. I feel like I can't do much with him, or I can get two kills before I die.

My favourite Unit would be the Sniper, because his Sniperrifle is a really good weapon for distance (well yeah) and with his grenades he can fight enemies which are attacking him. But the Rifleman is also good, he´s like an all rounder
. I like his rifle and the granades he has got.

The Imperial officer is one of the best units because it has a grenade launcher:
it reloads fast and can kill any unit with one shot.The recon droid is very useful in multiplayer.
For the Empire/ Rebel rifle discussion: slower firing but with higher damage rifles are better in
singleplayer, because you have the time to aim for headshots, but in multiplayer,
its better to have a fast-firing weapon, because the enemies are always moving.

My favorite class is infantry, especially the rebel soldier, his rifle seems to be more accurate than the stormies. 2nd favorite class is officer, Imperial, Wookie and then Magna. Its really tough to beat a grenade launcher shot to the head. also i actually like the Imp officer's sonic gun, if you practice with it enough it can be effective and i get a surprising amount of kills with it, and its hilarious how people react when they get killed by it. My least favorite class has got to be the engineer, too overpowered.
