WIP - Trandosha: Hunter's Ridge

The Story:

The Hunter's Ridge, a box canyon viewed as sacred by the denizens of the planet Trandosha, is also home to a self-exiled Trandoshan Sith Lord named Darth Echo. Echo awoke one morning to hear a massive crash which shook the earth and resulted in his temple home to sink halfway onto the rocky sand. Enraged, he emerged from his ruined dwelling to see a crashed Venator starship not far away.

Echo investigated the event and discovered that many Clone Troopers inside were still alive, having shut themselves away in the hangar. Using his cunning, knowing of the Clone Wars from a HoloNet station nearby, the Sith Lord corrupted the clones, claiming to be a Jedi General. He killed the surviving non-clone commanders in secret and within days the clones had sworn themselves loyal to Echo's Sith Order.

After a few days, the CIS forces discovered the location of the destroyed Republic Starship and launched an all-out attack on the crashed ship. It was at this time that Darth Echo decided to see if his new army had the ability to survive in combat, and sent them out.

----------------------------
FEATURES:

Chaotic Battle with hundreds of units.
New Characters: Darth Echo (Two Lightsabers, Force Choke, Force Lightning) and Jaxor Dezali
Land Vehicles - Tanks, Walkers, and STAPs
A huge CIS ship in the sky, a large chunk of Venator ship sticking out of the ground, water, grass and rain for an aesthetic appeal. - NEWLY ADDED

More to come
----------------------------

This is a standard map, no real additions aside from a pair of new characters. The first one is the aforementioned Darth Echo. He is the hero for the republic side. The hero for the CIS side is Jaxor Dezali, a new character who is basically a reskinned Jango Fett. (I chose this character because Dezali is a Mandalorian, and Echo *HATES* Mandalorians.)

There is only one game mode, I added assault but decided against it and now I don't know how to remove it.

There are two command posts, one for each. They are uncapturable (in every sense of the word) and there is no planning, so the AI immediately go after the enemy CP, and vice versa. With hundreds of AI going after the CPs at once (yes, it is an uber map, mainly Trooper class. The unit count said 102 once... yeah) it gets pretty chaotic.

The clone troopers are Reskinned, as in the story they repainted their armor as a sign of Loyalty to Darth Echo.

To be done:
A new sky - DONE
Finish skinning
Adding vehicles
Localization (Echo's weapons say "Aayla's Lightsabers", etc.)
Adding dust to give it that desert feel. - Decided to go a different route.
More spawn paths so the AI don't walk in a line as if they were getting ready to get coffee from a kiosk.
More trash littering the ground, and as such planning so the BOOKU LOAD of AI can pass it.

I cannot give a deadline yet. It should be done soon though.

There. I tried to make him better.

Did I succeed?

If only I could find out why he doesn't have that Diet Dr. Pepper Anakin cloth.

Thats better, but why is the rep hero a sith? Darth is a sith name. Sith= Bad guys. Republic= Jedi/ not bad guys.

He wouldnt have red sabers, or be darth if he was rep.
I would also reccomend more objects on the map.

Looks crazy. There must be over 200 AI in that mod. Nice use of skins. Just wondering if you could survive over ten seconds.

In the story, the Clone Troops swear their loyalty to Echo because they think he's a Jedi General. Do you really think a Sith Lord would wipe out an army of easily corruptible clone troopers instead of using them for his own good?

I know I wouldn't. lol

Easily corruptible and very stupid clone troopers, if they believe a dude with glowing red eyes and red lightsabres is a jedi general. But maybe he mind controls them or something. Doesn't matter

Anyway....suggestions
1) Add some rocks, like the kashyyk or tatooine ones (if you have BF1 assets) scattered over the floor of the canyon, for a bit of cover.
2) Change the sky
3) Change the textures on the ground. Please? I suggest using sandy for the floor, and a rocky one (from geo/tat) for the walls. Also, walls can look MUCH better if you make them by placing lots of the big square spire from geo (spire 4, 5 or 2 I think) or tatooine pillars. It gives a more realistic feel and makes the map look better.

Oh and that skin for Echo is fantastic.

PS. Want him to have some spiffy force powers?

Things are looking pretty good. The storyline seemed a little odd at first, but it is something original and sounds interesting. My only suggestions are to put a little more variation in the textures and add some rocks or other small props for cover/interest.

I agree with everyone else that the Darth Echo skin looks great. Good work.

Loving that new Darth Echo skin. The map is looking alright, but it definitely needs more variety in the terrain. Try varying the height of the terrain in the main battlefield area just a little bit--sleight hills and valleys can actually add a lot of realism to a map. Additional objects do a lot to make a map look nice, too. Also, for the hills around the battlefield, you might want to try using the blend brush under the height tools. It makes them look a lot smoother and less forced. :)
