After I changed my map description and name i get these errors:

ERROR[localizemunge English.cfg]:Text file syntax error. (No matching bracket)ERROR[localizemunge English.cfg]:Text file syntax error. (No matching bracket) [continuing]
ERROR[localizemunge French.cfg]:Text file syntax error. (No matching bracket)ERROR[localizemunge French.cfg]:Text file syntax error. (No matching bracket) [continuing]

And my map shows up as Abc%s%s

how do i fix this?

clean and remunge your localization.

Could u briefly explain what to do to clean?

In VisualMunge, next to the "Munge" button is the "Clean" button. Click it. There is also a Manual Clean tutorial stickied at the top of this (Modding) forum.

will this effect changes made to anything? such as skins for an added side, map, or the like

No, if munge again (along with your sides) then everything will be just fine.

Ok do you get a crash to desktop?

start battlefront through the mod_tools.exe and post your error log.

no crash to desktop i jsut can't launch it and how do i run that?

Could you clearly describe your problem pls? I dont know what you mean.

In the bf2_mod tool folder is a .exe data called bf2_mod tool.exe

My map shows up as ABC%s%s but when I try to play it, it won't launch. (I have played it before)

The errors came when i changed the description and name of the map in editlocalize.bat like the instruction in the faq thread said.

Edit: manual munge didn't work either i still get:

Edit/solution-It worked. I fixed it.

Srry for double post but if it helps, when i click editlocalize.bat now, it doesn't show mapname along with some others.

I just got a great idea. I'm going to make a new map (ABC, give it the description I and name then take that editlocalize.bat and switch with the defective one and munge) all after cleaning and temporarly moving the original of course.

Your editlocalize isn't "corrupt" its just missing some information.
