Iridonia: Docking Station (NJO)

Okay, I've honestly never ever seen the point in posting here, but...sigh...
Iridonia Docking Station is basically a New Republic cruiser innocently docking on Iridonia (D. Maul's home planet) and then bam they fall under attack from a battalion of Yuuzhan Vong. If you don't know what the Vong are, get yourself over to Wookieepedia now and look it up. So this is mostly aimed at Star Wars New Jedi Order book readers, but others should find it fun too. My second map, better than Asteroid I think

but yeah.
The map itself features a Mon Cal cruiser docked in a fueling station which leads onto like an airport lounge which leads to like a maintenace center. Vong are skinned mostly, just need to add detail to their vonduun crab armor and amphistaffs (coufees too). Hero for the vong is Shedao Shai the honorary leader of Domain Shai until he gets killed by Jedi Master Corran Horn on Ithor in like the third book. Corran horn is the hero for the New republic. Gave him a new power (force blaze, made it myself). New infantry unit (Tionne) has force heal. BTW I hope you've opened a new tab in IE 7 or Firefox by now and are constantly referencing my names and dates. Vong berserker has wampa skeleton and anims, he looks like he could be off of chainsaw massacre or saw or something lol.
Not much else besides that. Hope to hear some suggestions or comments. I just know I'm going to get screeny requests there's ALWAYS screeny requests. Well be patient and let me do some more work. ETA is approximately mid-April.

This map sounds really quite fun. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Read the books or just sounds cool?
Anyway, screenies coming in just a minute. Sorry I can't give you any good screenies of the map itself because well all I have so far is the mon cal hangar bay and one plaza out of like four so...
But I do have screenies of each vong unit (except Shedao Shai he's almost done) and I'll post these in a minute here. Okay, positive comments so far thanks I need encouragement.
Screenies:
(This is an eSnips page. A bunch of stuff at the top that's irrelevant, just scroll down and click the image link. For best quality once you open up the image glick the 'original size' button just above the image!)

Okay, this should satisfy for now, I hope.

Put your images up on a photo hosting site, such as
ImageShack, then copy and paste the url into image tags here and post it.

Doesn't look like 50% to me. Show some screens of the map. Four identical units hardly equals 50%.
And don't get discouraged by this rule. The reason we have that rule is so that people are motivated to finish. If you have your map over 50% you're more likely to finish it off since you're more than half-way done.

Thank you, Xavious. Subtle, yet effective.
Yes, Caleb1117 I have heard that there are vong units. The fact that I am making my own does lessen the map quality somewhat, but I also think that it's funner and more of a learning experience to create my own for the time being. I believe I have said these words before somewhere but obviously nobody understands me

.
Okay, Teancum, here come some map screenies taken about five minutes ago and uploaded like as I'm typing this. Hang on...oh wait you aren't the ones waiting out there. Sigh...
PS While I'm waiting sorry for not posting map screens before.
PPS The four units aren't identical (the first three are) but the fourth is a different skin. Subtly different, but...whatever.
Excellent, they're up. Now the link way up there should hypothetically update to my updated esnips folder, but I'm taking no chances, so here's another link (plus nobody wants to go ALL the way up there).
BTW the folder takes up two pages now. Also, among the map pics are some pics of Tionne (new jedi unit) and Corran Horn (new hero) and their custom force powers in use.

Enjoy!!

No one ever makes a mod map completely on their own. Even if all you use is Pandemic's assets, you're still using assets.
If the unit he's speaking of were just a reskin, I'd say sure, it's fine to go ahead and do your own just to learn. What Caleb's talking about, though, is a Vong playermodel that'll easily outdo any reskin anyone can do. Believe me, it's definitely worth it to use it (since it's hardly used anyway) and you'll still get plenty of a learning experience.

Sigh...
Okay, new screenies soon but not THAT soon.
EDIT from here on down: Sorry I had to cut that short that was at school and...yeah...
Okay, I have completed the first plaza out of three. I know I said there was like five before but in order to add more variety to the map and also cut down on labor and self-boredom I have officially changed my blueprints (yes I use StickyNote blueprints and stick them on my wall I'm such a nerd) so that theres only three and theres a generator complex and a landing pad where the vong start from. Sorry about the wait for more screenshots but let's just say this: Fun with barriers and hintnodes!
Also, if you're wondering about the sky I was playing with photoshop to edit the default yavin sky and itwas transparent so I added a black layer underneath, got up and left, came back and was like "hey that looks so...so... Iridonian!" and I left it at that.
I'm talking too much. Remember...screenies coming soon!

EDIT: And some more! Okay, what the heck I was about to put another URL. No. Just go the the above one. Be smart, unlike me!
PS: There are 12 new pix. You'll probably have to go onto the third page.

Thats pretty cool! I personally hate the Vong story, it should never have been even thought up, but the map is cool!
