After some searching on the forum, I could not find an answer so i decided to ask here,
how do you bring Star wars Jedi Knight Academy Models such as
http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Yuuzhan_Vong;3800
to battlefront 2?

first: welcome on gametoast!
second: this model has been already converted, its included in the conversionpack hero assets that you should find in the assets links thread in the released assets forum.
third: this question should go into the 3d modeling an animating subforum. you can convert .glm models from the jedi knight games to a format softimage xsi can open (the only program that can export units in battlefronts. msh file) with milkshape.

There is also a .glm importer you can get for Blender, which is free.

You can also convert .glm to .obj, .dae etc with the free *
Noesis still being actively developed.
*This software or it's developer has no affiliation with Noesis Interactive.

actually i have a few questions about this too.
1.how do you get the glm model. do you extract it from the pk3 file or what?
2. once you have it converted to obj. do you need to edit any part of the model? or can it just be directly converted to msh?

Yes. The .pk3 files are basically fancy compressed folders with a little more function. What this means is there are two easy ways to open them.
A) Use WINZIP to open them.
B) Rename the file from a .pk3 to a .zip and extract.

youll have to envelope it in xsi (stick the points to the bones) and fit the unit to the swb-skeleton or vice versa.
