Framerate Issues

How can I get Battlefront to run at a decent framerate? It's starting to annoy me. I can run Doom 3 on High, and yet Battlefront refuses to cooperate at 800x600! It's getting realllllly frustrating.

When does this problem occur ? While you're playing in Single-Player or Multi-Player mode ?

Single player. The problem is especially worse when I try and put Shadows on High.

If your problem had occured in MP, I could have helped you... But as it is in SP, I can't be really useful... You should de-activate shadows and other video settings like that. (Screen resolution won't change many things...)

Actually, screen resolution usually plays a HUGE part in a game's smoothness... Anywho, here's the exact situation:
RESOLUTION: 800x600
TEXTURES: HIGH
SHADOWS: NONE
It's really annoying. The game won't hold a solid framerate no matter what I do!

Decrease textures' quality, in that case...

Still craps up...

You should also try to close running processes which could "damage"
SWBF performances...

I noticed a problem with frame rates when I start trying screw around with high textures and shadows and the antialiasing... When I click to get an autodetect... I seem to get the best I'm gonna get. But I still play around with it... I guess it all depends on how much you're willing to deal with...
But if your running other stuff in the background (ie: xfire, ventrillo, TS... or any IM), anything less than a gig of memory and I notice a BIG difference.

TheTao, I forgot to ask you what your graphic card was...

ATI X800...

That brings a question though... I'm currrently looking for another graphics card... Mine's fine... I'm just looking to make it better. Any recomendations? something besides a $700 model? What exactly should I be looking at for best performance? Right now I'm running ATI 9200 (128 MB). I was looking at GForce 6200 (256MB).
As I said... I'm not having problems... But I'd like to see HIGH textures... High shadows... better antialiasing... I would like to see SWBF the BEST it can be seen. without sacrificing performance.

In that case, you should get an
nVidia GeForce 7800 GTX... (Or a
Quadro...

)
