Please make more content in your posts. I often delete several of them when you make one-smiley posts (which is often). Simply a smiley and a word conveys very little substance and contributes little to discussion.

Sweet! Is teh texture asymmetrical? Or is it like the stock clone?
EDIT: Oh, nevermimd. Didn't see that it uses the stock texture, lol.

You know, now that I think about it that must be
very obnoxious. I'm sorry if I wasted too much of your time.
Let me rephrase that:
Wow, dude. You must've put a lot of work into that. I can't imagine what made you put your time into those minuscule details, but the result sure is great! I've been looking forward to seeing these models in some maps ever since I saw it in the Model Showcase Thread.
Also, as fluffy said, is the texture asymmetrical?
EDIT: As fluffy said, nvm. Makes me feel like even more of an idiot.
I'll try to be aware when making posts so small in the future.

He said it was a new mesh, not a new model, so I'd assume yes.

obviously you can change the texture but i was wondering if changing the texture would ruin the quality some models that are like this only work with a small specific range of textures

Name one? A model's quality is independent of texture quality. If you make the texture better, it will look better. If you make the texture look worse, it will look worse. If a texture is edited incorrectly, it can make the model look worse (e.g. stripping alpha channels).

i made a hd-ep3trooperhelmet (around 85% done)
if you say you would use it, i can finish it and send it to you
that looks awesome by the way, did you hexedit the visorenvmap?

Thanks for the comments.

The latest version of my Meshtool adds envmap automatically without hex editing. Right now I don't have a lot of time to mod and my 3ds Max is expired, so I'll have to get back to you later on that offer, sorry.
Oh, and credits to FragMe! for the wonderful export.

Now that is nice. I'll be giving this a try as soon as I pick up modding again.

It's the stock skin, the model is HD

The part of the msh in question has to be using a separate Material from the rest of the msh. I assume the visor is an addon? When you ran mshtool, did you select the right material (matd index number)?
In the HD Clone, I made the visor use a separate material, so when I ran mshtool I had to choose between two rep_inf_trooper.tga (I selected the last one, as it was the one I wanted to turn into an envmap)

Ah, the visor looked different and the skin seemed brighter and sharper but maybe that's because of the new model and Envmap.

Ouch, waist weighting problem. But aside from that, vastly improved from the stock model, especially the helmet.
Overall, very nice job!
