Why? It's your pack so you get the points for the kills, you get points for kills with your own mines too.

you won't get kills with the pack because the pack does negative damage if you drop it when you die even if it is a mine (which you can drop btw ) you won't get the kills go ahead and try it if you want to see

Couldn't it be possible to program it more like a mine?

i believe however that you can drop a mine (but i'm not sure f it will be on a team) or drop a health pack with negative restore values (ie a damage pack)

Well even if you don't get credited, I think it would be fun for a map made for multiplayer.
Edit: Along with the negative values, couldn't you make it explode?
Fiodis wrote:
The first is not possible; grenades by nature only blow up once.
Couldn't you program the grenade like a gravity type gun that pulls enemies in, then delay the explosion so after like 6-8 seconds it explodes?

Acting on the "disguised" theme:
Invisible Mines!
Health Droids giving you ammo!
Ammo Droids giving you health!
Random rocks/sticks taking away both in a big fiery explosion!
And here's something:
So you make a really long lasting impact effect, and a small orb-ordance that sticks. Then, when you shoot someone, the orb sticks to them and seems to emit annoying clouds of an obnoxious yellow/purple color! Follows the victim until it wears off.
EDIT - Another thing: Possesed Mines.
You "drop" a mine. What really happens is that, through LUA code, you're summoning a local friendly to your team from a storage pit elsewhere, possibly underground. This local has the mine's MSH (no anims, of course - R2-D2 - style movement). His only goal is to get close enough to an enemy to blow himself up next to the enemy. So you "drop" a mine and it scuttles off like a strange crab, actively seeking out enemies to jump with a mind of its own.

Proton Cannon (In unit's hands not in space) - It would shoot those Proton shots that ships do in space battle. It would act like a mortar in the sense that it would arc (come up in a curve and return down) and explode on contact with a blue-green aura.
Air-Strike - First off, it would be different than Orbital Strike. Instead of standing in the place that you want to be struck, why not just scope it out? You could use those wieldable binoculars (from some mod I don't remember) and look through them. When the reticle is over the desired location click and in a few moments the area will be struck by lasers from above. It would have to have only 1 charge and you wouldn't be able to pick up more ammo for it, just to keep it from being so overpowered. So in that case 1 life = 1 Strike.
Deployable Ammo/Health droids - You would deploy a ammo/health droid, the way you would with one of the deployable turrets, and it's better than health/ammo packs.

Proton Bomb - How unconventional is this? It's basically an edited mortar. We get too much of this sort of thing in this thread, in my opinion.
Air Strike - Pretty sure it's been mentioned before, also with the suggestion of the binoculars.
Deployable Health/Ammo droids - Fairly sure it's impossible.

Well, there was the deployable turret. I'm not saying its completely possible - it might not be - but I'm saying that what was once considered impossible has been done. Its worth looking into.

Already done by me. Only difference is that rather than having one shot per life, it's one shot every 45 seconds. If anyone wants it, feel free to PM me and I can send you the assets.

I'm not worried about the dispensing part, I'm worried about the health/ammo regain part. From my limited understanding of a health/ammo droid's operation, when placed in ZE it has a region attached to it, not placed by the modder, that might not be possible to dispense.
I'm well aware that things that were once considered impossible have been done.
It
is worth looking into. Boy, this thread
does generate a fair bit of research.

...The whole point of my last post being that you can't dispense a region. Sorry if you missed that.

what about something similar to a claymore effect, where you have a certain "trip-wire" that triggers a set of explosions? This would most likely turn out to be a lua weapon, triggered possibly by proximity?

Most likely not possible...
Bane of Ammo:
Instead of depleting health, when you are hit by this gun, it gets rid of your current clip.
