That's a cool map if I ever saw one.

Re: Nal Hutta: Slum
Thanks for the compliments everyone, I appreciate it!
Thank you, but I haven't actually made anything. These are all recycled assets from the stock stuff and here. All I've done is swapped or recolored some textures.
Mapping-wise, it's pretty much finished. But I want to add civilian ships to the skydome (to really convey the idea that this is a busy place) and signs similar to the ones seen in Rends' Coruscant and Mav's Nar Shadaa. Ideally I'd like to add some more game modes as well, depending on how much work and time that would take. I might just put that on hold for a second release.
Originally the map was called "Nal Hutta: Swamp" and only a small portion had buildings, but after a while I decided that was boring so I expanded the industrial section. I'm still trying to keep the swampy vibe, but the trees are meant to imitate the ones seen in the link below.

I'd prefer some new trees but I can't model and those were the closest ones available.
As of right now there are no Hutts in the map. If I add any I don't think they'll be destructible. Maybe if Hero Assault gets added I'll make a destructible Hutt.
I have considered adding a Hutt or two to the map since it seems like the logical thing to do, but I'm struggling to think of a good spot to place them.AQT wrote:I see Gamorrean locals(?) running around but do you plan on having Hutts sitting around?

Those were a very recent addition and I've actually been debating with myself over whether or not they fit. The consensus here seems to be that they do not, and I can't say that I disagree so I think I'll use a different texture. However they might fit in a bit more if I'm able to add the signs I mentioned above.RogueKnight wrote:The barrel's texture seems to disagree with me, is that intentional, or are you going to reskin it later?

Saw this in the glamor shuts thread and it looks really great. You know, if you want some Old Republic sides, I think Delta would gladly give his over to you... that is if you credit him, of course.

Then you need to ask for a new link in that same topic. Please don't clutter Era's.

I don't know what specifically you're using for the local units, but in case you forgot, there are several scum-and-villainy-type units loaded in to Dark Times .lvls (Gamorreans are one of them).EraOfDesann wrote:A few more pics.Hidden/Spoiler:

Re: Nal Hutta: Slum
It really is amazing how much mileage you can get out of re-skinning stock stuff! Good job! I think the trees and buildings work great! However, why settle for a sitting jabba? Why not have a jabba that is a unit...or a vehicle (well, not the latter, but it would be funny seeing as Jabba is just a big puppet)
I am looking forward to the release. But one thing however! Is this just Dark Time sides? And have you considered throwing in ambient sounds and custom music???
Good work!

The DTII Gamorreans are different? The only scum and villany units I can think of from Dark Times are Weequay and Gamorreans, unless the Duros and Kel Dor mercs from the Rebel sides count.I don't know what specifically you're using for the local units, but in case you forgot, there are several scum-and-villainy-type units loaded in to Dark Times .lvls (Gamorreans are one of them).

Re: Nal Hutta: Slum
If you want some "scum and villany" you could use Rends' civilian animations and models from his Mos Eisley map. I think it includes a freighter pilot, twi'lerk, some droids, and a few others.
