did anybody here watch it?
i watched it yesterday and i think its a great movie
its neither an actionmovie nor a warmovie nor a comedy-movie, it cant be classified
the story is about 99% fictional, dont expect a historic movie
i wonder why it got an FSK 16-rating (that probably equals the r-rating), its very violent but violence isnt used to make the movie special or something like this
all actors are very good, but Christoph Waltz the actor of Hans Landa (and the character himself) are ingenious
here is a small plotsumary from imdb.com:
Hidden/Spoiler:
In Nazi occupied France, young Jewish refugee Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the slaughter of her family by Colonel Hans Landa. Narrowly escaping with her life, she plots her revenge several years later when German war hero Fredrick Zoller takes a rapid interest in her and arranges an illustrious movie premiere at the theater she now runs. With the promise of every major Nazi officer in attendance, the event catches the attention of the "Basterds", a group of Jewish-American guerilla soldiers led by the ruthless Lt. Aldo Raine. As the relentless executioners advance and the conspiring young girl's plans are set in motion, their paths will cross for a fateful evening that will shake the very annals of history.
if you want to see a good movie i can definitelly recomend it!
you shouldnt watch it with your parents, they could probably drag you out of the cinema within the film

Heard good things about it from friends who saw it + heard a few good reviews of it = seeing it in next week.
Can't say I like Brad Pitt (seen far too many half-naked photos of him in social psychology lectures, aargh) or Quentin Tarantino much, but hopefully I can enjoy it anyway.

im neutral towards brad pit and havent seen a tarantina movie before but the movie is just great its 2 and 1/2 hours long but its so smooth it doesnt gets boring and after the end you think it had normal lenght

i was suprised how many german (non international) actors played roles
Hidden/Spoiler:
the small guy with the "edgar wallace"-card in the french bar was a german tv-comedian for example

It's probably my favorite movie of the year thus-far -- I absolutely loved it.

Christoph Waltz's Hans "Jew Hunter" Landa is the best villain of the year and rivals Ledger's Joker and Bardem's Anton Chigurh.

Anything with Brad Pitt is good, so I'll definitely see this. Just seen The Curious Case of Benjamin Button which was excellent.

You silly man, Christoph Waltz easily destroyed those two as soon as Chapter One was finished.
