I know that about the M designation. I just like to call it the 'M-series' because it sounds cool.
So if a game is popular it's overrated? That's not what overrated means.Fingerfood wrote:If there's a game where at least 50% of its players live by it like a creed, then it's obviously overrated.
Popular =/= Obsessive.Grev wrote:So if a game is popular it's overrated? That's not what overrated means.Fingerfood wrote:If there's a game where at least 50% of its players live by it like a creed, then it's obviously overrated.

Indeed. It all just boils down to opinionated hatred or fanboyism, or something in between. Nothing is really ever truly 'fact', at least 100%. There will always be a lot of opinionated stuff in this, but the amount will vary.Teancum wrote:Doesn't this come down to a "In your own opinion" situation anyways? So if I say Super Mario Bros 1 is overrated, that's what we're really looking for - despite the fact that it's a hugemungous game.
IDK, I haven't found like any negative thing on Arkham Asylum, it seems to be '100%'.RevanSithLord wrote:Indeed. It all just boils down to opinionated hatred or fanboyism, or something in between. Agreed, if you have no expectations for a movie or game that is coming out, then you certainly won't be disappointed with it, even if it's not good. The sequel might suffer a bit because of that, it will have to live up to the high expectations of everyone who has played the first game.Teancum wrote:That game was amazing -- and I think it's because nobody expects a superhero game to be good.
Played the demo. Loved it. I want the full game, but finances for everyone sucks lately.Teancum wrote:That game was amazing -- and I think it's because nobody expects a superhero game to be good.
sounds just like SWBF2...Ping wrote:I personally think that BF2142 is pretty overrated. The game isn't for everyone - I personally do not like going through the hassle of trying to find a server to join with a mode and/or map I want to play. And it focuses completely on multiplayer, and single-player is almost non-existant. It's not a bad game; I actually liked it a bit after downloading a mod that allowed you to play most of the maps in SP, but I really think it's just a little bit overhyped. At least it's not done to the extent of Halo or MW.
Per the above. BF2 actually has a single player. BF2142 doesn't. I'd love it if there was a campaign in 2142, but there isn't, since 99% of the game is focused on MP.AQT wrote:Wait, single player SWBF2 sucks? I play it much more often than multiplayer and in my opinion I think it's great, especially with all the cool mods out there.
There was more story, but no campaign whatsoever. Which is kind of sad, because there was alot of potential for a good one. More out of curiosity than anything, but do other Battlefield games have campaign modes?Moving_Target wrote:Really? I thought there was more story/campaign in 2142, grant it I didn't play 2142 (minus the demo), but the singleplayer for BF2 was just 16 man instant action.
I didn't like the feel of 2142 that's why. I loved BF2.
Um, no I'm afraid they're more concentrated on the MP aspect of the game rather than campaign or IA which is really sad cuz like you said it has a lot of potential but they just don't seem to care.Ping wrote:There was more story, but no campaign whatsoever. Yeah, just the Bad Company series has a story, like Thire said.Thire wrote:Well the more recent Bad Company Series do.
