heh, is this developing into a competition?
hope not, because competitions are stress, which could lower quality.
but it's nice to have both era's covered with some incredibly large maps(if comparing to original space maps these are HUGE)
this will be quite exiting and i'm looking forward to the day i have both maps well placed on my comp.
but xwingguy, we have seen lots of progress on the mon cal cruiser, how is the SD coming along? if you have time, can we see some screens? if you don't have time, don't use it on letting the screens out, can always wait for the release. i'm not demanding, just curious...
the mon cal, is awesome by the way

I stopped playing BFII two months ago and I recently started playing again, but I remembered a BOE in progress and decided to look for it. What I found was this map has progressed into what I had imagined space battles to be like in battlefront 2 , multiple cap. ships, huge interiors, and more than one hanger
in the ships. I wish you the best of luck in finishing this map, Xwingguy.

I just have 1 bad feeling about the map...When it'll be out... How many MB will it be?, there are space maps that are 100 MB, and this is like 10 times those...

hmmm, first of all, welcome to gametoast Commander_fusion enjoy youre stay.
i want this even if it is 2GB. would just take me under 2 hours to get it.(i can get over 1gb per hour) so i will have it when it is released.
maybe it's hard to read the first page considering that this topic is well over 1000 replies. which shows the interest in this map, you have made somethnig quite popular, xwingguy, congrats to you, this topic has an average of 1 1/2 page a 24 hours.(on my calculator)
people do forget to read first page, even though mods/admins have said so over 1000 times, and maybe more since i only have been here for a couple of months
off topic, going on a 2 week holiday on thirsday, and therefore gives you a break from all my ****(word maybe not allowed) chat
will try to follow your progress anyway.

For interior combat, another way to make it more dangerous would be to create versions of the now-piloted laser turrents, dish turrents, and beam turrents that will attack automatically. The current auto turrents might be rather weak, but these things would really threaten a boarding party...

you could use my Anti transport strategy: place an auto turret in the hangar. it gives the player more of a challenge fighting off bots and an auto turret. you could also place a separate auto defense mainframe called the hangar defense mainframe that controlls the turret...

OFFTOPIC:
the thing i hate about SWBF2 is that the boarding parties never work, because first of all the ship hardly fits through the hangar, secondly when you land the ship when you eventually do get into the hangar, you say 'get out' then when you are tryin to get towards the auto turrets, the Ai gets back into the ship and fly right into the wall! Also no AI choose to spawn there...
Ontopic: because of this the whole word boarding parties is pretty much only in online play.

Just takeoff and land until there is no-one in the ship but yourself, the AI won't steal the ship after that.

Xwinguy, how long do you recon the SD will take in relation to the MC Starcruiser?
Could some please answer my question about the A-wings, I'm sure they didn't have shields.

Ok. Why do some of you want Xwingguy to make it almost impossible to get anywhere inside the ship? Why don't we add some killer clowns dancing on top of big shiny balls and shooting lock-on acid ice-cream with Fallout Boy as the background music? Then it would be completely impossible to go in a blow up the reactor.
