It wasn't dark. It had some emotional depth but "dark" is a misnomer.
That's reassuring. I've been a bit skeptical about it (can it top WALL-E?), but I'm still going to see it.
I also really want to see District 9. I'll put my thoughts in a spoiler tag just to be safe.

The review I read said it, as Mav' said, had a bit of emotional depth, but didn't suggest it was dark in any way. It also said something to the effect of "It is much better than the dull first half and repetitive
2001 references of Wall-E." So yes, I'd say the chances are pretty good it can top it.

I personally found it funny that Night at the Museum 2 did better than Terminator: Salvation

The first Night At The Museum did really well in the box office so I'm not entirely surprised.
Ben Stiller + Family Comedy + Sequel To Successful Film = $$$
I was a little surprised by how much Terminator underperformed, though. I guess the absence of Schwarzenegger might have had something to do with it. Oh well, the movie was pretty "meh" anyway. As a Terminator movie it stunk, but as its own action movie it was alright.
5.5/10

Night at the Museum 2 is my favorite comedy of the year so far. I did recently see UP and I thought it was really good.
Some more movies would be like Transformers 2 and G-Force.

I haven't seen UP myself, but I was talking to two of my friends who did, and both said it was amazing. One of them said she almost cried at least four times. How's that for an animated film?

I still need to see:
Slumdog Millionaire
UP!
Terminator Salvation
Night at the Museum 2
Want to See:
Transformers 2 (Hoping for more StarScream in this movie)
Year One
2012 (not sure if it comes out this year, but I think I heard somewhere it will come out soon. My friends dads friend plays the Secretary of State or some adviser I believe?)
Where the Wild Things Are
9
MOON
Distract 9 (At first I thought it was talking about how alienated and uncared for the people in Africa were, then I noticed the whole ALIEN thing. Looks good, and I want to see it, because I think its got a deeper meaning than aliens, kind of like "The Martian Chronicles")
Rental:
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (Didn't see OOTP so I'll wait)
The Land of The Lost (Looks a tad bit Cheesy)
Sherlock Holmes (As much as I love Sherlock Holmes, I've just watched the Soviet version, irrefutably one of the best versions of the Sherlock Holmes trilogy, and I'm not sure how this will match up, I'm worried it may seem a bit like Quantum of Solace in comparison to the older milder James Bond)
The Road(At first, I was like "WOAH!", but then the whole getting attacked thing showed up, and that ruined it for me. I was kind of hoping for/expecting a good, down to earth, how do I survive with my family during such a time period, rather than "OMG! EVIL CRAZY CULT!")

I'm a little upset that Moon has gotten so little showing...in like...only 10 theaters across the country. I'm hoping that more theaters start showing it once it's released in the UK and elsewhere as well...which is scheduled for July 17...about when the HP movie is coming out.
District 9 by the way looks great. I haven't heard of it before, but the
trailer was really interesting.
I looked it up and apparantly it's based on this short film called "Alive in Joburg"
http://www.spyfilms.com/#neill_blomkamp/alive_in_joburg
After watching that...I am definitely looking forward to the movie.
EDIT (to avoid double posting):
Moon is now opening in more theaters across the US. I just got back from seeing it, and it was amazing! If it's playing anywhere near your area, you really have to see it. It totally was not what I was expecting. Very good and original Sci-Fi, which is like I said before is rare these days.

I myself am looking forward to seeing the Half Blood Prince. I saw Terminator Salvation, and that was good, Christian Bale did great in it. District 9 looks awesome from the trailers, and I have not seen UP, though I've heard from many that it's a good movie, so, who knows? If I see it, it could turn into one of my favorite movies, (highly unlikely).
My younger brother also saw 'Night at the Museum 2'. He said it was better than the first, but was basically just a big war.
