I'm so clumsy

Twilight_Warrior wrote:Seriously though, that looks absolutely fantastic. The lighting and atmosphere fit perfectly with the setting you're trying to create. I do feel that the roman-esque monument looks a bit too smooth to have a rough texture, but hey, there's only so much you can do with SWBF2 models, and it is an awesome model on it's own, I just feel like it might be a bit off, visually. Anywho, the map still looks awesome with or without my nitpicking.

I concur. :plokoon:
I like we are finally getting to see a ground map of Boz Pity, quite the interesting environment.

//Off-topic: Ah, well I didn't play BFO much, wasn't a huge fan. I liked it but it just didn't fit my style of gameplay. I only played about 4-5 matches on it.

Let me congratulate you, Eggman, and apologize for not doing so sooner. I rather like Boz Pity's ambience.

Boz pity looks great! Gives off a sort of ancient barrows/stonehenge feel to it.

This map looks awesome! You should totally add hero assault to this map, it's perfect for it!

Sides Update #1: Overview
At skelltor's request, and because I agree that it's about time to show at least something related to the sides, this update will include an overview of the side setup along with some other information that may be of interest.
The basic side setup is pretty similar to that of the stock game. On every ground map, each side has its four standard classes: the rifleman, the rocketeer, the sniper, and the engineer. The equipment for these classes tends to be similar across every side, and isn't too different from what everyone is used to by now, although there are some minor variations. For example, depending on the side, the engineer's primary weapon could be a shotgun, a heavy blaster pistol, or a blaster carbine. Also, the rocketeer for each side now carries concussion grenades, which pack a stronger punch against vehicles, as opposed to the more general-purpose thermal detonators. Last, the sniper class carries a recon droid in place of auto-turrets. The recon droids themselves have had some modifications to make them more effective - if they are destroyed by enemies, their self-destruct mechanism kicks in automatically, meaning they must be destroyed from a distance.
In addition to the four standard classes, each side has two special unit slots. The special units are made up of a variety of classes - some are heavy assault units, some are officer units, and others may have a mixture of attributes from other classes. Different maps feature different special units. For example, the Republic may have the Clone Gunner and the Clone Commander on Geonosis, but have the Jet Trooper and the ARC trooper on Tatooine.
Nobody likes a wall of text, so here are some screenshots of the sides in action, some of which show the minor cosmetic changes to weapons or skins for certain units (big thanks to the creators of the new weapon models):
Finally, I've made some slight modifications to the "feel" of the sides. All projectile weapons have some level of recoil. It isn't enough to wildly throw off anybody's aim, but it is enough to be noticeable, and it makes the game a little more immersive (in my opinion, anyway). Also, all units have a slight motion blur effect when sprinting, similarly to the Force sprint of stock Jedi heroes. This change doesn't really have any functional reason behind it, but I just thought it would be fun to try, and it looks cool.

I might also play around a bit with the 3rd-person camera angles, just to see if I can find a fun new perspective. In general, I want the sides to have a little bit of the grit/"realism" of modern FPS games, but still have the fun, arcade-y feel of the Battlefront games.
Thanks for reading! Future side updates will focus on individual special units, vehicles, or heroes.

Wow! That's a great update. I really like the idea of the recon droid blowing up automatically, too.

Love the bothan spy. I have a question, how strong will the blasters be?

All weapons are similar in strength to the stock weapons, although there are some small changes here and there. For example, the stormtrooper's rifle does a little more damage than the rebel trooper's rifle, but it has a slightly lower rate of fire and level of accuracy.

The quality of design on these maps is simply stunning.
