I actually was trying to do the KOTORII effect where when your character is completely lightside, a lightstorm is flowing up around him in the character selection screen.

I can say that there's a "small" difference...

Yes, well, I didn't get quite the effect I hoped to achieve, because I was using 3DSMax's scanline render, and it won't allow you to render particle effects behind the transparency of a plane.

Oh yeah, that's right, and of course you could have also had the dark side one, but it depends on which guru likes better!
PS: A tundra is considered a desert even though it has ice, so maybe he's in a tundra

Yes, it's understandable because this effect is very hard to reproduce...
