Looking For Good Role-Playing Game

Well, a few months ago my younger brother a neigbhor and I played Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction together on a regular basis. then, we beat it and haven't played together since. I was talking to my neigbhor a little while ago and he said he wanted to start playing together again. So I am on the hunt for a new role-playing game. Prefferably a swords and magic type game that's pretty low-res but still a blast to play. The veiw doesn't really matter though third-person is preffered.

I will list some of the things we would like.

MUST be swords and magic type role-playing game.
Pretty low system requirments.
Mullti-Player campaign (or quest, whatever they call it in role-playing games)

So if you have any games that you think would be good, please share!! Thanks!

World of Warcraft...
Just about everything you need, but it does cost money
or warhammer online
you might also want to try other mmos just to see if you can find a suitable style

Silkroad Online.
Perfect World International.
I used to play both, but lag issues got me off of them.

I would say Neverwinter Nights. It is exactly what you described, and has online campaign (i'm pretty sure). The story is great, and it is long. You could go for the platinum version with the expansion packs. I really enjoyed NWN, and I think you should look into it. It is easily my favorite sword and magic RPG.

As for system requirements, my computer is old and weak, but It still could play it at medium-low settings.

I have heard that NWN is like Diablo 2, but more in depth.

NWN also has some great story mods to play after the campaign and a huge community expansion pack.

RuneScape lol. It fits your descriptions, but membership would be the best bet if you were gonna play it (it's also cheaper than WoW).

YOU PLAY TITAN QUEST!?! Sweet! I was going to suggest it, then saw your post. But yeah Delta, it's a blast to play. Set in mythological Greece, Egypt, China, then the Underworld (if you get the expansion pack; it's the same price gold or stock though, so there'd be no reason not to.) 8 different masteries (again, with expansion, with stock it's just 7) for a combination of 64 possible classes (I think... not too great at math...) Basic masteries, such as Warrior, 2 Elementals, Hunter, etc. as well as slightly off-the-beaten-path, such as Dream (my favorite, comes with Ex. pack.) It's only 20 bucks off of Amazon.com for the Gold edition, so I'd definitely give it a buy.

Off-Topic, guru, what are some of your char's names? Just wondering if I've ever played with you before.

Free or P2P?

If you want a free one I'd suggest Runes of Magic. Very similar to WoW its a great MMORPG though there are some bugs their still fixing.

If you want a P2P (which are wayyy better) I would suggest Lord Of The Rings Online. This game is awesome and In my opinion 10x better than WoW. You can easily run it on lower end PC's and it has spectacular graphics if you have a better PC. But as you stated a lower system requirements it should run really smooth. And that's me talking with my Intel Chipset on my laptop. I must of played the Trial 5x or more. This is a really good game and if you don't want to buy it without trying it, download the trial. But the quests are great and it just gets better the more you play it.

Have you ever played any of the KotOR series? They are essentially swords-and-magic RPGs (very similar to the Neverwinter Nights series - which is also fun).

I thought about kotor too. Problem is, I don't think there is any multiplayer.

Oh yes, you are quite right. However, Neverwinter Nights, as mentioned above as well, has an especially robust set of tools to make MP (and SP) games (and there are stock MP quests as well).

I can't believe anyone has posted this yet, but Halo is one of the best RPGs ever made. I would highly suggest that one but beware it is rated M.

It's not an RPG, that's why no one posted it. Just because it has story elements doesn't make it role playing.

I could be wrong, but I think the entire Official Campaign in NWN can be played multiplayer, too. There is also the dungeon master mode where one person controls the world the other people play in. I think NWN is the perfect match for delta578.

Wow Never Winter Nights seems to be very popular, I will have to look into it.

I do own Never Winter Nights along with two expansions (Rise of the Underdark and something Undertide)

I haven't installed them because my disk-drive broke a little while ago. I will have to look into the game. Though, Mav, are you saying that there is a built in multi-player or not? If I have to mod it out to do multi-player that will be a pain. :?

Thanks guys!!

Also, KoToR is Knights of the Old Republic right? If so I have only played it once on a friends X-Box.

Multiplayer is built into NWN. You can also play mods online. Built in multiplayer is robust, to learn more about it check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neverwinte ... ultiplayer

I Wikied NWN and I think we are going to go with that. If that doesn't work out we may just go with Diablo 3 but I don't think my neighbor's or my bro's computer could take the system requirements. I still can't wait for it though.

So anyway. Thanks for all your help guys, couldn't have found a good game without cha. Thanks!

Sorry to bring up a previous point, but TQ is way better in my opinion than any Diablo game. Considering you mention III, another good point is that TQ will be less than half the price of DIII.
