Localize problems (it's probably just me) [SOLVED]

Allright, before you say anything, I HAVE read Rend's tutorial and TBH, it wasn't very clear for my current situation. I have also been looking in the documents that came with the ModTools for any mention of Localize, but still haven't found anything.

The main part of my problem, is that I can't find my map anywhere. My map is named "First Map" and I see no mention of things like my three letter code, or first map. I have been messing around in Zero Editor for a while now, and I have gotten many things to work. I finally set a goal to get a custom unit into this testing ground, just for experience.

So I made the unit and got him on the Imperial side first try (impressive right?lololololol all he had was a blaster) I could get to the unit selection screen just fine, but his name is made up of X234EHGKJ45 or something like that.

Like I said, it's probably just me. I "probably" have to create something in the localize (I was thinking this) but I don't know exactly where to create what I need. I don't want to screw anything up.

So hows about a little help? :D

[EDIT] I fixed the crashing problem, buy my main localize questions still stand, thank you for ANY kind of help.

Run "Editlocalize" in your Data_*** folder. It's a tool which allows you to change the names of almost everything that shows ingame. (remember to change a name for all languages, the programm doesn't automatically change them all at once.) I haven't changed the name of units myself yet, but I'm pretty sure you should be in the submenu:
Common -> Sides -> (and the 3 letter name of the side which you want to change)
and for weapons:
Weapons -> (and the 3 letter name of the side which you want to change)

Safe when you're done. Usually, the program freezes up, but just leave it be. It's still working, you'll get a pop-up window when it's done.

I hope you find this usefull.

I don't think you know what I am saying. I have a custom unit with a custom weapon, and they show up in the game with the usual un-localized codes and filenames. I want to change these but I can't find them, or I don't know where to create them.

If I have to create a scope or something, I would love to know where!

Aren't those names showing up in the tool then? (otherwise, I thought you needed to create them in the corresponding folder; FE, make a new parameter in the Sides Imp folder with your unlocalized unit as a name. Then change the names in the screen to the right.

Alright, I found out how to do it myself and got it to work. mswf, thank you for the help, your last post helped me a great deal. Although you can just go to entity and create a new scope with you side name. Put in your unit(s) name(s) and voila, it works!

Same thing for weapons, except after creating your sides name scope, you create another scope called "weap" and then just put your weapons under that.

I feel so stupid for even having to make this topic.

Well, to be entirely honest with you, I had no idea how to edit localization until 4 days ago. I just read some docs, and then tried some stuff out with, which helped me come to things I helped you with. :)
