Floating Icon Help

Hello, I've encountered a problem with a floating weapon. I tried to use FragMe!'s fix for it, which has worked for me in the past, but oddly enough the icon is still floating but at the same time, there's another icon correctly placed in the HUD. Any thoughts? I haven't done anything differently this time and I use the fix quite often. Thanks for your help guys.

This can happen if you've used extraweapons.hud in more than one side folder. Put it in either sides/imp/ or sides/all/, and just make all of the necessary changes for both sides in that one .hud file. You don't need to have one per side.

If you load stock lvl files, do it before you load your custom once.

I still have problems with double icons on endor. Couldn't figure out the problem now.

So I've tried using it out of one side folder, but it doesn't seem to respond to my changes. More specifically, the extraweapons.hud file is in my rep folder but I'm trying to make changes to a weapon in my all folder. It's gotten rid of the double icons, but now the floating one remains and refuses to move.

I'm not at home right now so I can't confirm this, but I think you need to remove the other fix-related files from the sides/all/msh/ folder as well (e.g. com_inv_mesh). Make sure the fix files are only in the side that you have extraweapons.hud in. Also make sure you remove references to extraweapons and com_inv_mesh from the all.req file.

When munging, should I munge the all side (the side I'm trying to change) or the rep side (the side with extraweapons.hud in it)?

rep, unless you've added or changed any weapon models/textures in all, in which case you would munge every side.

If you are working on a bigger project you maybe should make a new side called hud, or FloatingIconFix (FIF) or what ever. And you only add the extraweapon script (and the com_inv_mesh) to it. Than it becomes more clear when you need to munge which side. It's maybe a bit confusing at the beginning, that you need to munge rep, to get changes on the all side
