It'll be good practice; I haven't done tentacles on a character before and I might as well do it once.Xavious wrote:This might just be me, but I don't see why it matters so much. It's just one little detail.

i agree, one small detail makes the map/mod just a tiny little little bit better, but the more details you have the more better the map gets

Sometimes, though, little details may make or break a map, depending on how one does it, but I know this tiny detail would definitely be awesome and help out. At least, in my opinion. Nice work, Mav. Keep it up!

Well if you can do it, the hilt models wont be hard as they are normal characters lightsabers. (Luke, half of Maul's, Vader, Kota, Shaak Ti, etc.)

Re: Dark Times II: Rising Son
I know that the models themselves are not tough; I already am using all those for the mod already - I've been working on adding this for the past couple of days, and while it looks fine it doesn't seem to add a whole lot of the tentacle "physics," although I could easily be doing it wrong. The clipping doesn't seem to be an issue, though, so I may or may not continue fixing this.CaptainOrdo wrote:Well if you can do it, the hilt models wont be hard as they are normal characters lightsabers. In any case, here is an update on some units. Since the GCW era is dominated by smugglers and bounty hunters (and not Jedi), it's obviously important to have a few of these for each side as well. Since both of the following units share the same hero support, I figure I can show you them at the same time:
Hero: Han Solo
Hidden/Spoiler:
Han Solo plays pretty similarly to his stock counterpart. His fusion cutter is significantly more effective than infantry fusion cutters, and of course he has haywire grenades too, for extra vehicle-hacking ability. Solo's Luck replaces his stock buff - it's a short five-second buff to any allies nearby that restores their health and makes them immune to blasterfire.
Hero: Col Serra
Hidden/Spoiler:
Col Serra is, ostensibly, the PC from Renegade Squadron. Here he carries a dual-barreled mortar launcher, which launches five shots at a time. He also has the buff "Inspire Confidence," which you may remember from the "Bail Organa" hero in the previous version of Dark Times.
Hero Support: Renegade Squadron Trooper
Hidden/Spoiler:
The game "Renegade Squadron" gave us the eponymous group of soldiers, led by Col Serra. Here, Renegade Squadron carries cluster grenade launchers, which are normal launchers that can be charged up to fire a cluster grenade. They also carry an explosive blaster pistol; a more powerful version of the standard sidearm.

Cool, but how does Han's luck work? Did you say it boosts enemies?

I did say that, but it was a typo and is now fixed. It's a friendly buff, of course.kinetosimpetus wrote:Cool, but how does Han's luck work? Did you say it boosts enemies?

How does the Renegade Trooper's "Explosive Blaster Pistol" work? Is it just a souped up blaster, or does it actually provide an explosion that knocks your target down?

Or does he throw it and then it explodes?
Good progress, Mav. I'm not a fan of Luke's Yellow Jacket (he wore it to the awards ceremony on Yavin IV. Would he really wear it into combat?), but I am most certaintly a fan of Col Serra's texture. Is that a stock model, btw?

I believe he's been portrayed wearing that same jacket in other mediums so I'm not sure that it's supposed to be anything formal.Fiodis wrote:I'm not a fan of Luke's Yellow Jacket (he wore it to the awards ceremony on Yavin IV. Would he really wear it into combat?

Regardless, a flimsy yellow jacket is not something I'd see him wear in battle, unless he were taken by surprise while wearing it.

What do you call Jedi robes, then? They're not exactly made of durasteel, either. Or how about the outfit Luke wore to Cloud City?

Re: Dark Times II: Rising Son
It's a leather jacket (or at least some kind of heavy jacket - you can tell by the way it creases, if you've ever worn a bomber jacket or something similar), and it makes as much or more sense than most of the "armor" (or lack thereof) many others wear (see Han to the left in the picture). I personally really like the look of that particular outfit, and it's actually used a lot in the comics, for being a one-scene costume.Fiodis wrote:Regardless, a flimsy yellow jacket is not something I'd see him wear in battle, unless he were taken by surprise while wearing it.
