I recently started to try to make maps, and I attempted to follow the steps in fierfek's mapmaking guide, but when I try to load my map it says FATAL could not open mission.lvl . I have no idea of what to do and any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello budster welcome to GT, have a look at the topic right below this one entitled Fatal Error which is more than likely related to your problem.

I don't have the convo pack but I have dark space so I tried to remove that and start up my map but the same thing happens.

Same problem I had. This fix is supposedly only good for Vista; but I've helped some friends that had Windows 7 with the same problem. He's having the quick munge problem I had a while ago.

For some reason I cannot download the fix, do you know of any other wbsites that may have the file as well.

I don't think the download on filefront is working.

It worked for me. I downloaded it just to check for you. If the download isn't starting click on the blue words that say "click here".

When i tried to click "click here" I got some sort of error.

Strange, dl works fine for me. I have windows 7 and I had the same error until I got the munge fix.

Maybe its something on my end. Do you know of any way that I can start the download without getting that error.

I had this same error.

To fix:

Download the Vista Munge Fix
Start your map over.

Hopefully all you've done is some terraining before your first munge. If not, sorry. Its the only way to fix it, without anything awkward

Where do you put the munge fix? in the swbf2 mod tools directory? because i did and did a new map and still got the error.
