A few questions

ok I have a few question about various things
1.) I have reskinned the SWBF1 TAT rocks to make them a little browner but whn I saved it was all fine then munged and played SWBF2 all of the rocks were all black and no color I edited Rock 1,2, 3, and 4 the regular (rock1) the one that adds "bump" at the end and the "lowrez"
2.) how can I put like Kamino rain on Kasskyyyk sky

1: when saving with GIMP you need to uncheck RLE.
2: use the kam.fx and rename it to ModID.fx and edit it and keep the rain part.

Ok, but a couple things to that when I save on GIMP all it does is just save never gives me option to uncheck RLE and when you say ModID I take that as the 3 letters for your map (for me DXU) correct o and where is the kam.fx in BF2_modtools?

1. Use Save As
2. Yes, it would be DXU in your case

If you ever have trouble finding a file, use the search function and type in the file name. Results will come up.

You have to clean then munge after putting the FX. Right? I'm not sure but I think you have too.

Not necessarily. Clean is a 'fallback' of sorts because frankly the munge process isn't 100% reliable. The munge looks for updated files (I *think* by filesize and date modified) and updates those if you don't clean.

ummmmm I did the 2 thngs Kamino1.fx and all tgas not RLE compressed then munged then played SWBF2 but it crashes so would cleaning help?

Did you change anything at all aside from that? Also, if you're going to have water on the ground you need to follow the water tutorial or else it'll crash.

that is all changed, and what i dislke when I clean then munge it take like 0ver an hour to munge Squddies assets so I exited the munge process and now my computer is lagging and not working=(

NEVER stop a munge. That will most definitely mess up your files. Also, look in the fx file an make sure you only copied the section about rain.

yeah I figured that out............. anyway how do I look at the FX file itself and is there a way to speed up Squudies assets munge time

Notepad.
And you just have to wait with Squeddies' assets. Any assets made by the community take a long time to munge. Not sure why, that's just how it is. Sometimes you just hit munge and do something else for a few hours.

I just want the lighting from the FX and rain from the FX. So would I delete everything except those 2 things then clean then munge?

OK since Teancum told me to just post more on this one instead of making a new topic so please don't get on me about Bumping
OK I added the Kamino1.fx and uncheccked RLE on all TGAs I modified but it crashed I ran BF2_modtools it crashed checked the doc thingy no severity 3s then deleted the FX and releced the skins and it still crashed any help
PS: yes, I did munge after I changed something I didn't fell like saying it 3-4 times

You said you stopped a munge, right? If so:
1-delete the contents of data_###\_BUILD\Worlds\###\MUNGED\PC
2-delete any .lvl files in data_###\_BUILD\Worlds\###
3-delete any .lvl files in data_###\_LVL_PC\###
***if you have custom sides***
4-delete the contents of data_###\_BUILD\Sides\SIDENAME\MUNGED\PC
5-delete the contents of data_###\_LVL_PC\SIDE
6-delete your map from /Gamedata/Addon
7-munge again (munging sides if you need to), making 100% certain you don't stop the munge.
This is called a manual clean, and is necessary if you ever stop a munge.
