I've heard Gimp is a good program, and is wondering:
1). Where to get it?
2.) When I paint in it how do I layer, not just paint over all the detail in blue but to keep the detail and color it blue.

look around the interface, there might be a window somewhere that says layers, if not, go up to Windows and look for toolbars, if there is nothin in there that says layers, i have no clue
