I can't seem to get the Sith Trooper to work.

Code: Select all

File : munged\pc\sth_inf_sithtrooper.model.req(1)...

Sith trooper problems...

There must be something seriously screwed up about the set-up of this unit, because this is the 3rd or 4th topic that i've seen about it. I think i'm going to have to get my hands dirty and look into this "sith trooper" and see what the deal is.

....Well? Is there a fix?

Hey Maul. I'm gonna PM you the spawn names from the sith troopers in the Temple.

The only way I could get it to show ingame and without errors was to use a different ODF.
From the testing that i've done with it, the problem appears to be ODF related, however, i did not try to pinpoint the errors in the ODF, I just swapped it with another and edited the GeometryName lines to call for the sith trooper mesh and it worked first try.

Going from the errors you posted, a full clean than remunge should clear up your errors.

Ah I got the same error when I was using the sith trooper and cleaning didn't help at all.

Why hasn't anyone made a complete sith and Old rep sides? with rocket troopers, piolots, officers, etc.

That's one of 2 things. Either you've stopped a munge while the Sith Trooper model was munging, or your version of the msh is corrupted.

Tean, interesting... O.o

Ace, I never made any .odf's so all I have provided was the .msh and .tga, not any ODF files.

If what you did worked, then why not just use that..? I don't know where you got any .odf if it's odf related...

Same here.

I'm not interested in using it, i'm just trying to help solve this mystery because we don't need more of these topics, but somebody made an ODF because it was contained within the source files download, check it out for yourself.

1.A full clean and munge would not fix these errors(both auto clean and manual clean)
2.The munge was not stopped

As i stated before, only a different ODF would allow this unit to work for me, i'm not sure what files the other members are using or where they got them from.

the sith trooper Qdin gave me didnt work for some reason, then I had Clonedude55 send me the exact same model, and it started working. I changed nothing in the .odf and no9thing in the .req.
so Ace, I would assume that there is actually more than a few problems with this model and its assets.

More than 1 Sith trooper msh floating around?

There must be more than 1 Sith trooper mesh floating around here then, the mesh that i have worked fine as a prop first try, which is what led me to the ODF that went with it, hence my results.

I downloaded the one in the Coversion Pack assets release thread.

I tryed making a new ODF, but that didn't seem to solve it.

Did you get my PM?

And everyone, if you can't get the Sith Trooper working, and want it, here are the spawn names I used in the Temple.

There ya go. Copy over the sth.lvl file from the Temple. You need the Conversion Pack sith trooper loaded for this to work though.
Like it says, you need to load the Pack's Sith Trooper for this to work and the sounds only work in GCW and the pistol and fusion cutter appear as secondary weapons but other than that it's good. :)

Yes, I saw that, but I don't want my map dependant on the conversion pack.

That's what I figured. Ah well, it works until someone can get the msh working.

Hmm.... The .msh Clonedude55 was sent directly from me last week xD

I first now noticed the conversation release thingy... And Tean' deserves at LEAST a warning for that!!!!! He just violated his OWN rule!! And it's not even HIS stuff!!! ARGH XD XD XD

So here's the deal: The .msh I'm sending to people works. All they gotta do is create the .odf's themselves and it should work. do NOT download from the KotOR thingy, as it requires the Conv. Files to use.

This is really pissing me off... -_-' And Gogie, you didn't get the last updated model back then

So.... could you send me the working mesh for my map, then?

Guys, the MESH WORKS. If you have stopped a munge, you need to manually clean that side. If you haven't look for other errors such as misnamed/missing textures. I just munged/tested the side again and all assets work fine.
